Before arriving[edit]

Pre Room 1

Before reaching Beanbean Fields, you'll have to go through another path of the mountain, though it's relatively shorter than the one to climb it. In the room where the rock is, there's a block in the far left upper side, if you want to take it.

Pre Room 2

Rock on fire in Pre Room 2

In this room, you'll see a rock blocking your way, but don't worry, your hammer works against the rocks of this color. Afterwards, on the lower left, you'll see a rock on fire, that can't be destroyed. In order to do so, you'll need to get some water. For this part, you want to break some more rocks, and go to the lower right part of the room. Here, you'll see a small structure that you can hammer, to then put the fountain to work. Then drink some water, and have Mario spit it on the rock on fire. This will allow you to move on.

Pre Rooms 3 and 4

After entering this room, you'll see a block you can hit if you want. Afterwards, head right and you'll see some rocks to destroy. Before entering the mine, head to the room to the right (Pre Room 4) and you'll see some blocks you can loot up. When you're done, you're set to enter the mine (Pre room 5)

Pre Room 5

In this room, you'll notice you can't advance to the right. In order to keep moving forward, you should talk to the Elder bean guy with the dog. He'll tell you about the carts, and you'll proceed to the Cart Minigame.

Cart Minigame

Finale of the Cart Minigame

For this relatively easy minigame, you control both Mario and Luigi on mine-carts. You'll have to make your way through collecting gems (Red for Mario, Green for Luigi). You need 10 in order to advance. Be sure to collect batteries to keep the flashlight on, and avoid rocks that fall on the ground, as colliding with them removes 1 gem from the total count.

Pre Room 6

Pre Room 6 is very similar to Pre Room 5, but inversed. The old man will greet you (again) and then head downwards to the next room

Pre Room 7

You've made it to an are with a save block and a few blocks. Break the rocks blocking the path and head over to the next room

Pre Room 8

Right after entering the room, the Hammerhead bros will teach you how to use the hammers in battle. Afterwards, you'll see some rocks to the right your hammers can't break yet. If you want, head up to Pre Room 9, or head downwards to Pre Room (This is the one that takes you to the right place)

Pre Rooms 9, 10, and 11

If you head up from the room with the rocks, you'll see a room with a few blocks you can hit. Upwards is another room, which has a Boo artifact that you can't use just yet, and to the left is a shortcut to HooHoo Village (Don't take this if you don't want to re-do it all again). Head back to Pre Room 8, and afterwards, to Room 1

Beanbean Fields[edit]

Room 1

Battle against two Sharpeas (One stunned)

You've finally made it to the main Beanbean territory! (From now on called Beanbean fields) You'll instantly notice due to the environmental changes. Here you'll find one new enemy. Keep going down, and battle the Sharpeas that are in your way.

  • New enemy: Sharpea
  • HP: 8
  • Do NOT jump on them, as they're spiky. In order to give a first hit, on the overworld hit them with a hammer. Often, this results in you giving a temporary stun.
  • Tip: These enemies don't give much XP, so in case you're grinding for it, battling them is not worth it.

Room 2

Battle against a Sworm and two Sharpeas

In this room, you'll find a new enemy, Sworm. Head downwards to room 3.

  • New Enemy: Sworm
  • HP: 14
  • Often fought along Sharpeas

Room 3

In this room, head southeast until you see a stone-like entrance.

Beanbean Castle Town[edit]

Rooms 4-5

When you enter, you'll see a small scene showing how damaged the town is. To the right, you'll have the eastern part of the town. Now head upwards to room 6. Room 6 After you enter, keep heading up until you're stopped by the guards. After the whole scene that plays, they'll let you in.

Beanbean Castle[edit]

You'll want to travel in this order: From the first room of the castle head up, then from that room, head left. Keep walking left until you see a bean citizen on the ground. Interact with him, and let the next scene play.

Beanbean Castle Sewers[edit]

Fight against two Super Flies

In the first room, you'll find two new enemies, Super Flies and Spinies.

  • New Enemy: Super Fly
  • HP: 10
  • These look a lot similar to the Fighter Flies from Stardust Fields, and their attack pattern is nearly (although not exactly) the same.
Battle against two Spinies
  • New Enemy: Spiny
  • HP: 14
  • You know these guys! They're very similar to the Sharpeas you met earlier, and again, do NOT jump on them!

In order to advance in the sewers, you have to fix the holes in the pipes, by smacking the cork with your hammer. In the first room, there's three of them.

In the second room, there's a hole to fix in the upper middle area, however this will send two spinies from above, so be ready. Then go to the left, and you'll spot a red valve. Use your spin move near it, and it'll activate more holes you need to fix. After doing so, move forward.

In the third room, you must not spin the red valve in the upper right corner, as it launches a spiny right on top of your head. Instead, head to the room in the right where you'll see a red valve, and once you spin it, four holes get activated. Hit them in this order to get it right: up left, down left, up right, down right. Afterwards, head to the room that just opened.

Mario and Luigi spinning a red valve

In that room, spin the valve and it will open the holes you need to fix. Backtrack to the room, and fix the holes.

The last room is easy, as you only need to fix one hole. After the Lady Lima scene, head over to the next room. Also if you want, head through the big door to find a few blocks to loot. Take the stairs, and prepare for a boss battle.

Boss Battle: Queen Bean[edit]

Fight against Queen Bean
  • HP: 120 (Arms have 22 HP)
  • The proper way to win this fight is to attack the arms first. Then, it is recommended using the Bros attacks on her head when the crown drops. Occasionally, she can spawn Beanies.
