The Star Cup contains two courses that feature large water sections. Pick your kart accordingly.
Piranha Plant Slide[edit]
Be careful to avoid getting hit be any of the plants this level. Use the flowing water to get an extra boost of speed when possible.

Later in the course, there is a pipe that occasionally shoots up. This allows players to safely travel over a piranha plant.

Early in the course, take the high road above the water, especially when using a heavier character, to go a bit faster. Use mushrooms during the gliding section in order to avoid slow underwater travel.
Neo-Bowser City[edit]
This relatively straightforward course is all about boosting on turns while avoiding falling off the edge or slipping on a puddle.

Maka Wuhu[edit]
Like Wuhu Island, this course is actually one lap with three sections. It is extremely unusual in that the course starts and ends in different locations. In the final gliding segment, veer towards the right in order to reach the end slightly quicker.

Until recently, there was a glitch that allowed players to fall into the water early in part 2 and skip a large portion of the race. Although this exploit has been fixed, people occasionally try to exploit it to this day, wasting valuable time and coins.
