MB Inorganic Soldier (Top Half).png

Once your (or both) Mega Blast have reappeared on the screen, two groups of three Type 5 enemies will come flying down and up into view from the top and bottom of it while firing beams at them; once you have fired a shot at each of these to kill them, all six of them shall leave a blue device pack behind. Once you've collected them, your (or both) Mega Blast will stop moving, as the enormous Sinclair C5 from the second round flies into view from the right side of the screen for a second time and starts hovering up and down while firing ring-lasers and beams at them - and once you have fired enough shots at the Sinclair C5 to defeat it for a second time, it shall explode, and fall off the bottom of the screen. Your (or both) Mega Blast will then continue moving to the right, until the enormous Moai from the third round comes down into view from the top of the screen for a second time and starts spitting groups of five projectiles from its mouth at them; once you've fired enough shots at it for a second time, it will again explode, transform into an enormous brain-like creature, and start ricocheting randomly around the screen while firing ring-lasers at you. Once you fire enough shots at it in this form for a second time, it shall explode and shrink down out of existence - and your (or both) Mega Blast will then continue moving to the right again, until Chack'n comes down into view from the top of the screen for a second time then begins hovering up and down while spitting projectiles at you. Once you fire enough shots at this (again) formerly heroic Taito character to defeat him for a second time, he'll explode and fall off the bottom of the screen; your (or both) Mega Blast shall then continue moving to the right once again until Bubblun (who is, again, mostly hidden by fifteen protective bubbles) flies into view from the right side of the screen for a second time, then starts flying diagonally up and down towards you while spitting bubbles (which can, again, be blocked for 100 extra points apiece) at you. Once you have fired enough shots at each of the protective bubbles to destroy them for a second time, Bubblun shall again grow up to twice his original size, as four more spikes grow up on his back, and continue flying diagonally up and down towards you while spitting more bubbles at you - and once you have fired enough shots at Bubblun to defeat him for a second time, he will explode and fall off the bottom of the screen. Your (or both) Mega Blast shall now undergo an eighth and last dramatic increase in speed (which, for the eighth and last time, means that a boss fight is approaching, and just after you have defeated the four previous mini-bosses for the second time as well) as the following text appears on the screen:

"Inorganic Soldier" (filename: Big Robot) will then come down into view from the top of the screen for a second time; this time, it attacks by firing missiles from its head-mounted cannon, ring-lasers from all its arm-mounted ones and flames from its chest-mounted one (which is its new vulnerable point), and shall follow your (or both) Mega Blast around the screen after each attack, which means you will once again have to keep moving to stop it from trapping you. Once you have fired enough shots at its chest-mounted cannon while it is exposed to defeat it, it shall explode and fall off the bottom of the screen - and your (or both) Mega Blast shall then fly off the right side of the screen as the text "MISSION COMPLETED. YOU DESTROYED ALL ENEMIES AND WAR IS OVER. YOU ARE THE BRAVEST PILOT. SEE YOU AGAIN NEXT GAME" appears on the screen. You can now sit back and enjoy the game's ending sequence, which reintroduces each of the bosses by name and filename (the song heard from the Yamaha YM-2610 during it is also Ode an die Freude, from the Ninth Symphony of Ludwig van Beethoven, 1770-1827); Taito's then-current "triangular" logo, introduced in 1988, shall then appear on the screen. The game shall now go into "high-score" mode as the high-score theme starts to be heard from the Yamaha YM-2610 - and your scores will most likely be the two highest values upon the cabinet to date, so you should enter your initials at the top of the table with pride regardless of which way around they are positioned. Once you have done this, the text "GAME OVER" shall appear on the screen and the game shall go back into attract mode.
