Remember that it is "one Einherji, many Einherjar", because it's Old Norse, not English.

Suggested order[edit]

The eight selectable stages can be cleared in any order. One possibility is described in the following table: it focuses on getting Sub-Tanks early and the special Galacta Armor. Actually, such armor makes the game more difficult: it is for players looking for an extra challenge.

Einherji (boss) Element Motivation
1. Noble Mandrago (Neutral) The stage conceals a Sub-Tank. Unlike previous titles, score and rank in Mega Man Zero 4 don't affect any aspect of the game, therefore there is no penalty for getting lots of damage (nor, subsequently, for restoring health).
2. Heat Genblem Flame The parts found in the stage allow to make the extremely useful DoubleJump Chip; also, one of the parts to make S-Crystals and one for the Galacta Armor can be found in this stage only. Heat Genblem is weak against Thunder, but Thunder-based EX-Skills are not very effective against him, therefore let's fight him early.
3. Popla Cocapetri (Neutral) The last part to make S-Crystals can be found in this stage, as well as another part for the Galacta Armor. Right after this stage, make two S-Crystals and trade them for two Sub-Tanks.
4. Fenri Lunaedge Ice One of the four stages that includes parts for the special Galacta Armor. The stage also conceals the last Sub-Tank. Fenri Lunaedge is weak against Flame, and especially Sol Titanion's flame-based EX-Skill. You can also set the Cyber-Elf to animal trait lv.3 (flame attack) without score penalty. The EX-Skill obtained from him is the most effective against the boss in the Intermission stage.
5. Mino Magnus Thunder The enemies in the stage drop parts that allow to make 4 different chips. Mino Magnus is weak against Ice, but he is out of range for Fenri Lunaedge's ice-based EX-Skill. You can instead set the Cyber-Elf to animal trait lv.4 (ice attack) without score penalty.
6. Sol Titanion Flame This is the last stage that includes parts for the special Galacta Armor. Sol Titanion is weak against Thunder, but Mino Magnus EX-Skill is a defensive weapon, very effective against the sub-boss instead. During the final boss battle, you can set the Cyber-Elf to animal trait lv.5 (thunder attack) without score penalty.
7. Tech Kraken Ice The first part of the stage cannot be revisited: set the Cyber-Elf to hacker trait lv.5 for a better chance to find two enemy parts exclusive to that area, without score penalty. Tech Kraken is weak against Flame, and especially Heat Genblem's Flame Saber.
8. Pegasolta Eclair Thunder The last of the eight Einherjar. The boss battle is even more difficult because of the pits in the boss arena. Therefore, the DoubleJump chip is an asset here.

Galacta is Japanese for Junk; the Galacta Armor is made of three chips named JunkHead, JunkBody and JunkFoot.
