needcontrols

This page needs images of controls for the Windows from the controller buttons category to make learning the controls easier. If a set of controller button images is available for this system, please add them. If a set of controller images isn't available, it might need to be brought up on StrategyWiki:Staff lounge.

Control selector Select controller:
PlayStation (analog controller), PlayStation (digital controller)

All items are equipped by holding L2 button to access the items menu, and selecting the desired item with Neutral lstick. You can quickly equip and un-equip the most recently-used item with L1 button.

Scope[edit]

One of the items you begin the game with. A long-range, lightweight set of zoom binoculars that can be used to scout great distances away, helping you to plan your route through the game. Equipping the scope in the right Item Menu causes your character to enter first person view as he looks through the electronic lens. Zoom in with Circle button, zoom out with Cross button, and look around with Neutral lstick. You cannot move while using the scope.

PAN Security Card[edit]

The Personal Area Network system uses a person's body salts to transmit an electrical signal to a sensor built into the door. When the person bearing the card approaches, the door opens automatically. The doors are assigned levels so that access by personnel can be limited in terms of rank. Assuming you've acquired a security card of sufficient level, you need only approach a secured door to open it unlike MGS1 where it needed to be equipped. There are five levels of ID cards in the game.

  1. From Peter Stillman
  2. From the Ninja called Mr. X
  3. from Ames
  4. from President Johnson
  5. from Emma Emmerich
