Port City Deja (デジャ)[edit]

As the party rushes in, Leila notices a red-haired woman staring at them. Cindy tells her to forget about it for now and to get Jay to a bed. Kim tells Hanzou that he'll try to find a doctor and rushes out into the town. The townspeople mention a man named Brad Bell (ブラッドベル) who is rumored to be a good doctor and who occasionally visits Deja to shop. Kim eventually finds the man in the Pub and brings him to Jay. Dr. Bell determines that detoxification will require a "Life Booster" and that they may be able to locate one in the Former Vector Magic Institute to the west. As the party exits, the red-haired woman teleports next to Jay, seeming to know him.

Noteable Villager Gossip:

  • There is a village to the east named Easlite.
  • The Former Vector Magic Institute is said to be closed off. (Cindy recommends that they go anyways.)

Make your preparations, exit town and head all the way west to the Magic Institute.

Former Vector Magic Institute (元ベクター魔導研究所)[edit]

The party is puzzled to find the gate is open, despite being told that it was closed off. They determine that someone must have recently opened it, and sure enough, we find the red-haired woman drop something onto the ground to the right.

Go through the opening in the gate and head northeast to examine the white ring that the red-haired woman left. You will obtain the CD-ROM. Backtrack to the stairs, ascend them and go through the door on the building on the left (the right door is locked). There are no treasure chests in any of the small rooms, so instead enter the elevator door at the northwest end of the map and choose “2F”.

Grab the chest in the room directly south of where you come out for a Magical Berry. Make your way to the southeast corner of the map for another chest: (ダーナブレス). Now go to the room in the center of the map. The party will use the CD-ROM you picked up earlier to gain information on the “Life Booster” that Jay is in need of, as well as a passcode to access the underground storage room. Take the elevator on the right side down to 3F.

Go down into the room directly below you for two chests with an Anti-Poison and a Death Mask (デスマスク). Then cross the semi-hidden path on the east wall next to the elevator you just came out of. Above the first elevator you see in this new room is another chest: Silver Knife. South of said elevator is another very large room with a chest: Sage's Sand. Exit the large room through the door north directly of the chest you just examined to find another room with a Save point. Now use the elevator on the right side of the map to go to 1F.

There is a chest with a Health Berry at the upper center of the map. Once you've procured it, use the elevator on the far left to go down to B1. Go down and get the chest with the Sachet. Now it is time to enter the passcode at the 8 number terminals on the wall in the middle of the room. Starting with the very left one, enter 2 9 4 0 1 0 1 5 – using up and down on the D-Pad. The steel door in the center will open. Go through it and enter the room on the upper left for a chest: Sefira Drop. Next, go in the room on the upper right for a boss fight.

Boss Battle: Bio Worm (バイオワーム)

Once it is defeated, examine the shelf in the very top-left of the room to obtain the Life Booster (ライフブースタ). Now either warp or walk out of the dungeon and return to Deja.

Deja (Second Trip)[edit]

Head to the second floor of the Inn where Dr. Bell is. A long voiced scene will play and Jay will finally be cured. Exit the Inn and Bethlehem will come running up. Apparently he didn't keep a good enough eye on Emma and Carl and they have gone missing. The mage says that he has searched everywhere for them and that there is no evidence that they were recaptured by the Empire.

He pledges to keep looking, but recommends that Jay and company head to Easlite Temple. It seems that Emperor Siegwald's goal is to resurrect the evil god Gehenna. Bethlehem states that Gehenna is pure hopelessness, destruction, jealousy, sadness, and uses the darkness found in every human heart as its energy source. If not stopped, Siegwald will gain complete control of the planet. Bethlehem goes on to say that in the old days, Siegwald was the leader of Vector's Dark Mages, and that they will need a strong mage of their own to counter them. Leila feels that she is up to the task.

Lastly, Bethlehem gives the party Lapis – a stone made by the ancient Logneta civilization that has the power to amplify and control magic. The party thanks the old mage for his help and bids him farewell as he departs to find the two missing children.

Make any needed preparations in Deja and head east to the Easlite Mountains.

Easlite Mountains (イースライト山)[edit]

At the first fork (A), head left for a semi-obscured chest: Power Berry (力のべリ一). Then head right to Fork B and go up the path. At Fork C, head down a little bit for a chest. Go up from here and then up again at Fork D. Follow that path to another chest and then return to Fork D. Head right, grabbing the two chests above and below you: Heal Tonic and Sachet, and cross over the bridge. You'll spot another chest to the north: Power Berry. Travel just a little ways more and you'll reach Easlite village.

Easlite Village (イースライトの村)[edit]

Noteable Villager Gossip:

  • The Imperial Army appears to be doing something in Easlite Temple.
  • The Easlite Temple worships the Archangel Michael, who is the Warrior of God and incarnation of the Sun.
  • There is a volcano in the Easlite Mountains which makes it very hot. One woman would like to cross the sea to the north to the Les Renault Continent where it is very cold.

Finish preparations and then enter the cave in the northeast section of the village.

Easlite Temple (イースライト神殿)[edit]

At Fork A, take the upper left path. Take the upper left again at Fork B, as well as fork C. Go right at Fork D for a chest: (スルトブレス). Backtrack to fork B and go right for another chest. Continue forward and then go right at Fork E and up at Fork F for a third chest: Megatonic. Backtrack to Fork E and go up this time. When you arrive at Fork G, head up again and descend the stairs.

Go down to Fork H and take the bottom left path. Follow it all the way down to Fork I and take the lower right path for a chest: Mist light (ミストの光). Backtrack to Fork I and go bottom-left now. At Fork J, go down to reach another chest: Rosary (ロザリオ). Go right at Fork J this time, and right again at Fork K. After a very long stretch, you'll arrive at another cave door.

Go down to Fork L and head right. At Fork M, go down to a chest: Heavenly Wing. Backtrack to Fork L and go down. Go down again at Forks N and O. Once at Fork P, head right and up for a chest: Heart Berry (心のベリー). Finally go back to Fork P and head south to the exit.

You will be outside now. Follow the linear path to the next cave door. At Fork Q, go right. Take a quick detour at Fork R to the left to use the save point, and then head up. Go up at Fork S for a chest: Gigatonic. From here, head all the way left and you'll reach another door.

Grab the chest sitting out in the open: Aurora of Protection (オーロラの守り) and continue upward. Go right at Fork T for another chest: Power Berry. Backtrack, go up and at Fork U, go right. Follow the long path, grab the chest: Titanium Knife (チタンナイフ) and head down to the exit.

Enter the doors to the temple. Upon entering, head left and up the stairs you see there. Follow the path to a chest: Megatonic. Return to the main entrance area and this time go to the opposite stairs on the right side. Follow the path for a chest: Sage's Sand. Return to the main entrance once more and go all the way up the red carpet in the center, but instead of going up the stairs at the end, head over to the stairs on the right. You'll find a chest here: (ダーナブレス). Go back down and take those aforementioned center stairs this time.

Grab the chest off to the left: Silver Knife and then head south through two doorways. Off to the right here is another chest: Aurora of Protection. Now go up the nearby stairs. On this floor, go up through the double doors to meet a new foe. Jay identifies him as “Brynhilde” and asks what he is doing here. Brynhilde replies that it is of no concern to him and declares that he will fry him with his flames.

Boss Battle: Brynhilde (ブリュンヒルデ)

After the battle, Hanzou notices that Jay seems to have known Brynhilde, but the former man quickly changes the subject. Leila then spots a beautiful stone with writing on it. She recognizes the language as Ancient Logneta and says that this is the Lapis of Fire. She goes on to say that, according to legend, one who holds all seven Lapis stones can conquer the world.

Grab the chest in this room and head through the doors that were behind Brynhilde. Keep descending the stairs one after another and you will eventually reach Easlite Cove.

Easlight Cove (イースライトの入り江)[edit]

This place is fairly linear compared to what you've been used to up until now, and there are no random encounters to boot. Go up to the next room. In here, loop around to the right and enter the next door. You'll reach the first fork in this room. Go up and into the next door. Follow the path here and you'll eventually reach another boss. It is Gimille, who was instructed by the Dark Knights to kill any intruders on sight.

Boss Battle: Gimille (ギミル)

With Gimille defeated, the party will steal the Imperial Army's golden ship, which will enable you to cross the sea. An FMV plays where Cindy asks Jay where he is from. A long voiced scene flashbacking to Jay's past will begin. Jay used to be one of Vector's Holy Knights, but was struck down by Siegwald. Jay was seriously injured but was rescued by Laguna; a senior Holy Knight. Laguna trained Jay, gave him the Nightsword, and then sent him off to Jerez, where our adventure began.

The Open Seas[edit]

You now have control of the ship. One thing to note: In this game, the ship does not follow you around when you use teleportation. Instead, it stays exactly where you last left it. Luckily, this problem is subverted by the fact that you can warp directly onto the ship, either by using the item Heavenly Wing (天馬の翼 ) or Hanzou's warp spell (飛仙の術). In either case, choose (帆船) to go back to the ship.

Hanzou's recommendation is that they travel to the village of North Pick, but before that, lets sail to Serenic Island to give thanks to 'ole Laguna. Sail the boat southeast of your starting point until you once again see the Former Vector Magic Institute. Serenic Island right next to it to the west.

Serenic Island (セレニック島)[edit]

Head inside the home and speak with Laguna. Via FMV, Laguna reminisces back to the days when Bethlehem, Siegbart and himself were part of the Vector Knights. Jay asks Laguna to join their quest, but he refuses due to his old age. You can examine the egg afterwards if you want, but it won't hatch yet.

Sail back to where you first obtained the ship and then head north a short ways. You'll see a town on a snowy continent. Disembark and enter.
