Rakway (ラクウェイ)[edit]

Noteable Villager Gossip:

  • The peaceful village of Sheila is at the foot of the Rexario Mountains.
  • The townspeople say that Minister Crack is a rotten person and that he has been acting strangely recently.
  • The king of Rakway was a famous warrior who fought together with the Vector Paladins long ago.
  • A man named Refaire has been seen going in and out of the castle lately.
  • The Rakway kingdom has very advanced shipbuilding technology.

Exit town and head northeast to another village.

Sheila (シーラ)[edit]

Noteable Villager Gossip:

  • The castle can be found east of the village.
  • The king of Rakway is in possession of some kind of lapis, passed down from his ancestors.

On the lower right side of the village you'll find a boy crying because he hurt his knee. Cindy, the kind soul that she is, will cast a heal spell to mend it. Unfortunately, Cindy begins to feel a nightmarish sensation in her mind immediately after. As there is no Inn within the village, the boy invites her to rest at his house. The party believes that Cindy must have had a premonition due to her being an angel. Cindy appears to be better the next morning and the boy's mother says that they can stay anytime they wish.

Make preparations, leave town and head east to Rakway Castle.

Rakway Castle (ラクウェイ城)[edit]

Head up into the castle. At Fork A, head left and then go straight down into the first doorway for a chest. Back at Fork A, head all the way right and go down into the second doorway for another chest. Return to the fork once more and head up either staircase to Fork B. From here, walk all the way left and go down into the room for the third chest. Back at Fork B, take the path next to the right staircase up and then make a sharp right to enter a room with both an up and down staircase. Take the former. On this next floor, head down into the room below you for another chest. Walk out of the room and head all the way to the left. Go outside through the door and you'll find another chest. Take the door past the chest to go back inside. From here, go down the corridor to your immediate left for yet another chest. From this corridor, walk all the way up to the other side of the floor. Don't take the stairs just yet. There's another chest off to the left. Grab it and then descend the stairs.

From the stairs, walk all the way down and go left into the room at the end for a chest. Now head back up and take the right path at the first opportunity, and then head down at the first opportunity from there. In the first room to the right is another chest. Now go all the way back to Fork B on the second floor.

At Fork B, go up the middle through the room and ascend the stairs, as well as the next couple of stairs after that. Go into the white doors off to the right. You'll meet Refaire and Minister Crack. Jay recognizes the former man as “Fast as the Speed of Light Refaire”, but Refaire has no idea what he is referring to and says that he is known only as one of the Dark Knights. Thanks to the minister's help, he says he was be able to complete his mission of obtaining the lapis of light.

Boss Battle: Refaire (ルフェール)

After the battle, the party demands that the minister take them to the shipbuilding dock.

Shipbuilding Dock (造船ドック)[edit]

The minister does as ordered, but the second everyone steps inside, he orders the guards to capture the party. Battle with two soldiers.

Go up the stairs before you and then head right for a chest. Now head left, grab the second chest and then use the elevator. From here, head down until you spot a third chest on the left. Head back up and go into the top-center room for a fourth chest. Go to the right side, head down, and at the first opportunity, left for a fifth chest. Now finally, go down the stairs in the center of the map. Along the way, Leila will say that she sees a door ahead. Take your detour to the left for the sixth chest and then exit out the door to the south.

At the four-way split A, head left and up into the area for the seventh chest. Now head down from the split to come to four-way split B. Once again, head left and up for a chest. At the fork at the bottom, go right and up the steps. Make your way up and at the second opportunity to go left, do so for another chest. Now go all the way up to find an elevator, but instead of getting on it, follow the linear path south. You'll get another chest at the half-way point; keep following it all the way to the elevator on the left side of the map and take it.

At your first chance to go right, do so and then up into the small room for a chest. From here, make a quick detour to grab the next chest from the southeast steps and then head straight down from the previous chest to find another split. Again, do down the southeast steps for yet another chest and then return to the split. Head south to find a third split and then south again for one final fourth one. Head left to grab the chest and then return to the third split. Head left, down the steps, left again and into the elevator.

Take the first right and head down the steps there for a chest. Now hop onto the left conveyor belt to be transported down. Head all the way right, passing up three more conveyor belts, for another chest. Now walk back to the middle belt you passed and use the elevator there. Grab the chest and then return to the previous floor. Go down the belt on the right and then head left one one last elevator.

Head right and enter the doors for a chest. Keep going to enter the battleship.

Air Battleship Megiddo (飛空戦艦メギド)[edit]

Cindy again states that she's feeling a great unease. Head up the steps for a chest and then use the elevator on the left side of the room.

Take the left belt to a chest, then take the next one on the left. Walk over to the right end and take the second to last belt to another chest. Use the right belt to return to where you were. Head to the center and down into the room for a chest. Then head into the room right next to it on the left and use the elevator.

On this floor、you will be confronted by a large robot named Eye-Red. It states that it is the commander of the battleship and that it received a report from Minister Crack to eliminate our heroes. Before the fight begins, it also drops the tidbit that Gateau (the man who created Herukamu) is also aboard the ship.

Boss Battle: Eye-Red (アイレッド)

After the battle, Jay tells Eye-Red to lead them to Gatou. The robot refuses, which prompts a threatening tone from Hanzou. Reluctantly, Red-Eye does as told. When you regain control, head up and get on the right belt. Grab the chest here and head back down the left belt (the elevator is useless at this time, but remember it for later!). Go through the bottom doorway where Eye-Red is waiting. He expects you to follow him, but before you do, head left past the beds for a chest. Go down to the next split and then take a right for another chest. Now follow Eye-Red to the left.

Eye-Red will laugh and taunt you for falling into his trap. Gateau will then welcome them and proceed to take the battleship to the skies. An FMV will then play showing the Megiddo firing a giant energy cannon at Sheila. Gateau then says that Rakway Castle will be the next target. Fortunately, a couple of villagers show up to lend a hand with pleas that the heroes will keep any more of their country from being destroyed.

Head down out of the room and then all the way to the right for a room with a chest. Then go down the steps to the south and enter the elevator. On the next floor, grab the chest on the right and then head down into the room on the left side. You'll catch up with Eye-Red and Gateau, who threaten to fire the cannon again if the party takes another step closer. Another FMV plays and Cindy learns Metamorphose. Leila is amazed by her ally's new ability.

Remember that elevator that I said to ignore earlier (near where you fought Eye-Red)? Take it this time and then enter the door. You will be treated to yet another FMV and learn that the true identity of the Megiddo is infact General Megiddo, a former Vector Paladin. He states that the Empire was controlling his mind, but Cindy's holy blast was enough to snap him out of it.

Exit the Dock via teleportation or walking and then return to Rakway Castle.

Rakway Castle (second trip)[edit]

Head to the throne room. Jay will ask the king for a permit to repair the Megiddo. The king says it will be fixed by morning.

The party will be awoken by rumbling. A soldier then rushes in and asks them to please hurry to the courtyard. You will find Bethlehem sparring with Laguna. Fearing that they'll destroy the whole castle, Leila yells at them to stop, but it falls on deaf ears. Leila then gets a genius idea to get them to stop (you can see for yourself in the following FMV). The two old men say that this was just their way of saying “hello” to each other after all this time. With that settled, the party returns to the king. He says that the Megiddo is fully repaired and that you have free reign to use it.
