Welcome to the game. Once the stage's theme starts to be heard from the Yamaha YM-2151, the screen has scrolled to Mirai Ninja's starting position, and the stage title has appeared, start running to the right and throw a shuriken at each of the three Hanzou Hattori that are running towards you to kill them before coming to an irregularly-shaped platform; once you have jumped onto it, five more Hanzou Hattori will start making their way towards you. Once you have either thrown a shuriken at each of them or collect the Kudaki (orange) powerup above the "Warp Statue" in the hole of the platform to kill them, you will come to another smaller irregularly-shaped platform as three more Hanzou Hattori come running towards you to kill them - and once you have thrown a shuriken at each of them to kill them, then continue running to the right until you come to a third larger irregularly-shaped platform - and once you have jumped onto it, three more Hanzou Hattori will start running towards you. Once you have thrown a shuriken at each of these, to kill them, you'll come to a fourth larger irregularly-shaped platform, with a "Warp Statue" in its first hole and a Chikara (yellow) powerup in its second hole; jump up to collect the Chikara powerup (if you need the extra energy), then throw a shuriken at the two Karasu Tengu that are flying towards you to kill them before jumping up to the top of the platform and collecting another Kudaki (orange) powerup to kill off five more Karasu Tengu flying towards you. Once you have dropped down to the ground (and landed on a fifth smaller irregularly-shaped platform), two Sasuke will start running towards you - and once you have thrown a shuriken at both of these to kill them, you will come to a sixth larger irregularly-shaped platform with a second Chikara (yellow) powerup on the top and a Waza (green) powerup on the right. Jump up to the top of the platform and collect the Chikara powerup if you need the extra energy, then drop down to the right of the platform and collect the Waza powerup in order to gain the ability to throw three shurikens at once for a short period of time; once you've dropped down to the ground, nine more Karasu Tengu will come flying towards you. Once you have thrown three shurikens at each of these to kill them, you will come to a seventh larger irregularly-shaped platform with a "Warp Statue" in both of its holes - and once you have jumped onto it, six more Hanzou Hattori will start running towards you. Once you've thrown three shurikens at all of these, to kill them, the fourth "Warp Statue" will transform into a Kawariminojutsu Tsukai and jump up into the air, throwing four fast-moving shurikens down at you as he does so; once you have thrown three of your own shurikens at him to kill him, you will come to an eighth larger irregularly-shaped platform that has a third Chikara (yellow) powerup on top of it. The effect of the Waza powerup will probably have worn off by now so you should jump up to collect it if you need the extra energy before dropping down to the ground and coming up to a ninth larger irregularly-shaped platform - and once you have jumped onto it three more Hanzou Hattori will start running towards you. Once you've either thrown a shuriken at all of them or collected a third Kudaki (orange) powerup above the "Warp Statue" in the hole of the platform to kill them, you will come to a tenth smaller irregularly-shaped platform with a fourth Chikara (yellow) powerup on top of it. Jump up to collect it (if you need the extra energy) before coming to an eleventh larger irregularly-shaped platform; once you've jumped onto it, two more Sasuke will start running towards you. Once you've thrown a shuriken at both of them to kill them you will have to collect a second Waza powerup above the "Warp Statue" in the hole of the platform, as a hologrammatical image of the Evil Master Shikinami Kurosagi appears in the background - this means that it is time for a boss battle. Inari will appear in front of Mirai Ninja and warp around to the left side of the screen, then summon three Semushi Men to jump out of the ground and perform a somersault before disappearing back into the ground; he will then warp back around to the right side of the screen and repeat the process, before warping back around to that left side of the screen and repeating the process again. Given that he will never stop summoning Semushi Men to jump out of the ground until he gets killed you can kill the Semushi Men by throwing shurikens at them for 400 extra points apiece - but if you take too long to defeat him, a Beam Hassha-ho will appear then fire a laser beam at Mirai Ninja. If you manage to kill it, two more will appear after a short period of time; if you manage to kill them, three more will appear after an even shorter period of time. The pattern will continue with the number of Beam Hassha-ho increasing by one and the period of time in which they appear decreasing each time you kill them - and once you have thrown enough shurikens at Inari to defeat him, he will explode and any Semushi Men currently on screen will immediately disappear. The "stage clear" theme will then be heard from the Yamaha YM-2151 as Mirai Ninja runs off that right side of the screen and proceeds to the second stage, which has a multitude of paths to be taken through it; if there is one that you can gain a large amount of points from, and only get hit a few times on (if at all), take it.
