Part 1[edit]

MG Stage 3-1.png
  • In the first part of this stage, Ronin and Yellow Ninjas will come running towards Goemon from both sides of the screen; there are also three Otafuku Masks, a Tea Gourd, three Omamori (one Type 1 and two Type 2), a Fan and a Peach which he can pick up and throw at them, along with a Golden Mallet that shall make him invulnerable for a short period of time after he jumps up to collect it. If Goemon touches either of the barrels, they will start rolling forwards, killing any enemy they hit for 800 points apiece - and it is also worth noting that there are no hidden objects for this part of the stage.

Part 2[edit]

  • In the second part of the stage, Samurai and Yellow Ninjas will come running towards Goemon from both sides of the screen; there is also two more Otafuku Masks, another Tea Gourd and a third Type 2 Omamori that he can pick up and throw at them. A Transparent Ninja will also always appear to throw three Shuriken throwing stars at Goemon - and if Goemon strikes the locations of the bell (which is not the same type as the head-mounted weapon ones) and the Moai (from Konami's own Nemesis) on the map above to reveal them he shall receive 6000 points. Once he has reached the boss area, the music will change; this stage's boss has the same technique as the green oni, but he possesses the power to come back three times.

The boss of this stage is a green-faced tengu; once he has appeared in front of Goemon, he will throw homing leaves at him (and with not much space to run, they are not terribly easy to avoid). As with the first stage's boss, you may only kill him by picking up one of the nine regenerative Lotuses in the area and aiming it at his feet (because he'll block them with his shield if you aim them anywhere else) - and he can also again temporarily stun Goemon if he touches him. Once you have killed (or survived long enough against) him three times, his face shall change colour to red when he comes back for the final time; once you have killed (or survived long enough against) him for a fourth time, you can proceed to the village (but if Goemon should still have a Lotus mounted on his head on reaching the village, he shall automatically lose it, as he once again distributes his collected gold over the village, causes all the lights in its houses to turn on and proceeds onward to the fourth and final stage). There is also no village on the fourth stage - instead, Goemon must collect the Golden Lamp on the roof of Edo Castle for a 10000-point bonus.
