The only thing really needed to "get started" for this game, is to have some basic knowledge in Japanese, mainly just text. Even if you only know the Kana/Gana's along with a very basic audio vocabulary, you should do just fine. And that's really only if you want to really get the specifics in the Story Mode.

Also, knowing a touch of English could help too, since this game also has some things in English (mostly just names, which are both in Japanese and English).

One last thing; be sure to check the Controls page for this game. It supports Wii Remote + Nunchuk (main method), Wii Remote sideways, and Classic Controller. It does not support GameCube controls.

Characters[edit]

10 characters from the Negima universe are playable as main characters. They are:

  • Negi Springfield
  • Asuna Kagurazaka
  • Konoka Konoe
  • Nodoka Miyazaki
  • Setsuna Sakurazaki
  • Makie Sasaki
  • Ku Fei
  • Kaede Nagase
  • Evangeline A.K. McDowell
  • Chachamaru Karakuri

In addition, the other girls from the Negima series can be set as support (effectively a permanent power-up), similar to Marvel vs. Capcom, The King of Fighters '99, and The King of Fighters 2000. Up to two support characters can be equipped to each fighter.
