Controls[edit]

  • Joystick: Use the 8-way joystick to direct your Pac-Man (yellow for 1P, pink for 2P) around the mazes; if you let go of the stick, he shall stop moving.
  • Firing Button: Use this button to make your Pac-Man spit lasers at the enemies; if you hold it down then push the joystick a different direction to the one that he's spitting lasers in, he'll move in the direction you push it, but continue spitting lasers in the original direction until you let go of the button.
  • Running Button: Push and hold down this button while pushing the joystick in any direction to make your Pac-Man move at twice his current speed.

Characters[edit]

Pac-Mans[edit]

HP Pac-Man (1P).gif
NHM Pac-Man (2P).gif

Namco's signature character needs no introduction, but for this unofficial sequel, there are two of him; Player 1 controls the original yellow Pac-Man, while Player 2 controls the pink one who has since lost his red headband from Hyper Pac-Man. Both players must direct their respective Pac-Mans through each maze, and use their new laser-spitting ability to kill all the enemies (in addition to the unnamed ghosts from "Hyper Pac-Man", there are also slimes, armadillos, and ducks), without being touched by them or running out of time - and every time one of their lasers hits an enemy, the text "LV XX" (XX being his level) and an energy bar will appear above him; once it's been drained completely, the enemy will die. However, if they take too long after killing a particular enemy, he will be resurrected in a red colour palette, indicating a higher speed; once they have killed all the enemies on the current stage they shall proceed to the next stage (and there are a total of forty-five stages over six worlds).

Ghosts[edit]

The ghosts in this unofficial Pac-Man sequel are again unnamed, and this time, only come in one colour (blue); again, they all seem to behave identically, and this time, because they now only come in blue (which again makes them look edible by default, and may again confuse fans of the official games), they shall flash red when a power pellet is eaten (as will the other three enemies, as they are susceptible to them as well).

Slimes[edit]

NHM Slime.gif

This first, possibly Tower of Druaga-inspired, like type of new enemies behave identically to the ghosts, only moving at a higher speed.

Armadillos[edit]

NHM Armadillo.gif

This second type of new enemies again behave identically to both the ghosts and the slimes (but with the added ability to curl up into a ball, and charge towards the Pac-Mans); if the Pac-Mans' lasers should hit them while they are curled up in a ball, they will bounce off them, and as such, they are only vulnerable when they are not charging towards them. As a result, they may make the stages that they are present on hard to finish without running out of time (possibly even multiple times) - but remember that they are susceptible to the power pellets' effect.

Ducks[edit]

NHM Duck.gif

This third and final type of new enemies shall not behave identically to the ghosts, slimes and armadillos; instead, they fly over the mazes' walls towards the Pac-Mans' current positions, and cannot get shot while in mid-air. As a result, they may again make stages that they are present on hard to finish without running out of time - but you should again remember that they are susceptible to the power pellets' effect.

Bonus items[edit]

Regular bonus items[edit]

There are four types of regular bonus items that are either visible in plain sight, or initially invisible until you happen to shoot them; the enemies cannot move past them, and you do not have to eat them in order to clear the stage (even though they level your Pac-Man up), but Cherries (which were first eaten on the first round of the original Pac-Man in 1980) are worth 1000 points, Hamburgers (which were first eaten on the fourth round of Super Pac-Man in 1982) are worth 3000, Strawberries (which were first eaten on the second round of the aforementioned original Pac-Man) are worth 5000 and Eggs (which were first eaten on the fifth round of the aforementioned Super Pac-Man) are worth 10000 points. All four items are shown in the gallery.

Special bonus items[edit]

There are also three types of special bonus items which are, again, either visible in plain sight or initially invisible until you happen to shoot them; again, the enemies cannot move past them (and you again do not have to eat them, in order to finish the stage): Roller Skates shall increase your Pac-Man's current speed, while Power Pellets shall (as in all official maze-based Pac-Man games, 1984's Pac-Land and "Hyper Pac-Man"), give him the ability to eat the enemies for a short period of time (as opposed to just spit lasers at them), and Helmets shall give him protection from death for one touch only.
