Akito Shukuri (宿吏 暁人) is foul-mouthed and hot-tempered, with the appearance and attitude of a delinquent. However, appearances can be deceiving, as he is actually the most competent cook on the ship; this is in great contrast to his other team members, Ron (who is too lazy to assist in any task), Heishi (who solves any issue of taste by adding sugar), and Nanami (who sacrifices taste for nutrients). Akito also has a surprisingly rigid routine, getting up early, going to bed early, and exercising frequently in between. He appears to have some unresolved issues with Nanami, as he is quick to badmouth her and treat her cruelly, much to the confusion of the other espers.
