Before this event, you'll be treated to a short cutscene featuring Harry, which explains that you shall have to alternate pressing the first and third buttons.
The equivalent of the 100-Metre Dash, from Konami's Hyper Olympic trilogy, this event will start with your (and another player's) Numan at a starting line in the United States (Harry's home country), showing off for the crowd (if you chose Sharon, your opponent will be Masaemon and vice-versa, and if you chose Harry, your opponent will be Bongo and vice versa; if there are only one or two players, and either of them has chosen Harry or Bongo, Sharon or Masaemon will be controlled by the CPU in the first race, and if there are only three players, Harry or Bongo will be controlled by that CPU in the second race). A drag-racing car will then drive off the right side of the screen as both Numans start glowing - and once the text "START!" appears on the screen, you will have to alternate pressing the first and three buttons to make your Numans run to the right. When they pass that drag-racing car, they will speed up considerably; once they have passed the finishing line they shall again show off for the crowd as confetti rains down upon them (if their time was less than 11"00). So, if your time was less than 11"00, you will not only qualify for the next event, but the text "CONGRATULATIONS! IT'S A NEW RECORD! ENGRAVE YOUR NAME ON HISTORY!" shall also appear upon the screen - and you will now have thirty seconds to enter your initials by using the first and third buttons to select the letters, then pressing the second one to confirm your choice. If there are only one or two players, the game will proceed to the next event, Interceptor, in the Soviet Union; however, if there are three or four players, it will proceed to a second Turbo Dash event before doing so.
