Adventure Items are found during the cases undertaken by the Startling Developments Detective Agency, and are used or traded to progress through the game.

The items are arranged by the case which requires them to progress.

Episode One[edit]

Case 2: The Game Is Afoot[edit]

These items are parts of the giant robot that crushed your home, and serve as clues to its dark purpose.

Lube
This perverse moisture may hold the key to many mysteries. Scraped off a sidewalk in Hobo Alley.
Giant Bolt
Weird markings swim below the metal's surface. Even this small part of the machine feels deeply malevolent. Found in the ruins of your home on Desperation St.
Giant Winding Key
You sense that this twisted key has been party to a campaign of evil. Held by a group of Hobos in the north of Hobo Alley.
Giant Gear
What profane acts has this gear been party to? Bought from Kurtis Swindell's souvenir stand at the entrance to Pelican Bay, in exchange for one red token.
Inactive Robot
This is the best, most complete model of the device you have seen. It smoulders with steel lust. Taken from the Shithole Warehouse in Hobo Alley.
Giant Light
This sparking module is still functioning, just barely. Found laying on the Pelican Bay boardwalk, just beyond the Cataract.

Case 4: To Fell A God[edit]

These items are required for the final upgrades to your weapons required to defeat Yog Sethis, The Silent One.

Ultra Urine
This potent potty stretched the boundary of urine science. Received from Dr. Ernest P. Whimple in exchange for the Sinwheel model.
Vacuum Tube
Scientists sometimes use these. Found in the destroyed remains of the Pelican Bay boardwalk's Madame Zodora brand Fortune Dispensing Apparatus.
Dark Mime Soul
This is the tormented soul of the Silent Pope, violently sucked out after his defeat at the orange tree on Desperation St.

Case 5: The Meat Of Human Kindness[edit]

Hobo Meat
This meat isn't really Grade A, if you get my meaning. Taken from the corpses of defeated hobos in Hobo Alley.
Stamped Hobo Meat
A wide stamp across the flesh reads "Delicious." This is regular Hobo Meat that has been processed by the Stampex-7 Industrial Beef Stamper in the Shithole Warehouse in Hobo Alley.

Case 6: The Nobel Pee Prize[edit]

Sinwheel
This is a toy version of the boardwalk's depraved Sinwheel. Purchased from Kurtis Swindell at the Pelican Bay souvenir stand in exchange for one token of each color.

Case 8: Pelican Bay, Or, The Bloody Boardwalk[edit]

Pelican Bay Ticket
This tattered ticket allows entry to Pelican Bay, New Arcadia's perverse boardwalk district. Received from Dr. Ernest P. Whimple as a reward for re-opening his lab in Case 6: The Nobel Pee Prize.

Case 9: To See, Or Not To See[edit]

These items are the mime tools lost by Dr. Coriander Stripe, the ex-mime scientist in Pelican Bay.

Invisible Briefcase
There is an invisible briefcase here. You think. Looted from the bodies of dead mimes defeated in Pelican Bay.
Invisible Stairs
This tool is a guarded secret of the mime's art. Looted from the bodies of dead mimes defeated in Pelican Bay.
Invisible Rope
Every mime owns a length of this cherished, ethereal cord. Looted from the bodies of dead mimes defeated in Pelican Bay.

Case 10: The Mistress Mysterious[edit]

"On" Switch
This is a fairly standard mechanical activator. It would probaby work on anything. Found in a box of similar switches next to the furnace in the Shithole Warehouse, Hobo Alley.
First Fortune
Madame Zodora's first message reads like a directive: "Silence The Laughter." Issued by the Pelican Bay Boardwalk's Madame Zodora brand Fortune Dispensing Apparatus in exchange for a red token.
Second Fortune
This shred of paper, dispensed from the Madame Zodora machine, reads "Entertain Us." Issued by the Pelican Bay Boardwalk's Madame Zodora brand Fortune Dispensing Apparatus in exchange for a green token.
Mouth Harp
This simple instrument has bits of hair clinging to it. Taken from a defeated Barbershop performer in Pelican Bay.
Spoons
In the hands of a musician, these common spoons become a source of intense delight. Taken from a defeated Barbershop performer in Pelican Bay.
Kazoo
There is still part of a lip on here. Taken from a defeated Barbershop performer in Pelican Bay.
Third Fortune
Another simple, cryptic phrase crawls across this fortune: "You Will Seize The Light". Issued by the Pelican Bay Boardwalk's Madame Zodora brand Fortune Dispensing Apparatus in exchange for a blue token.
Fourth Fortune
This tiny scrap of paper, smelling slightly of smoke, reads "YOG SETHIS, IA! IA! MALDON UMBRUTHIA!" Dispensed from the Madame Zodora machine immediately after the third fortune.

Boardwalk Tokens[edit]

These tokens are required to buy items from the souvenir stand or receive fortunes from Madame Zodora, both in Pelican Bay.

Red Tokens
Received for winning at the Flying Pricks game, located just past the entrance gate on the Tollbooth frame of Pelican Bay.
Green Tokens
Received for winning at the Vandalism game, located on the Midway frame of Pelican Bay.
Blue Tokens
Received for winning at the Balls and Holes game, located on the Gates of Silence frame of Pelican Bay.

Bonus Items[edit]

These items increase the player's base stats.

Soup Bonus
Renewed vigor... from a dark source. +50 to the player's health. Received as a gift from Gerhard Kettle in Grove Bend, Hobo Alley for completing Case 5: The Meat Of Human Kindness.
Invisible Weights Bonus
You feel stronger! +10 to the player's attack. Received as a gift from Dr. Coriander Stripe for completing Case 9: To See, Or Not To See.

Unused Items[edit]

These items are not used in this episode, but may be required in Episode Two.

Pocket Lint
This is... some lint. A reward from Ernest P. Whimple, for re-opening his lab.
Golden Hair
These magnificent locks shine like spun gold. Sheared off the dead Slum Lord's scalp after defeating him.
Phonograph Horn
This disused funnel smells strongly of liqor. Purchased from Kurtis Swindell at the Pelican Bay boardwalk souvenir stand, in exchange for three tokens of each color.
