One Piece: Treasure Wars plays like a board game. Each player is a a pirate from One Piece and run around the board fighting eachother. The members of the crew you did not choose as your character will be running around along with a few bad guys. Normally the objective is to find a piece of treasure or special item.

Here is an overview of what your first options in the game are. The first screen after the title screen is for choosing game modes and checking records. Since this is a Japanese only game the overview is formatted to mimic the game's layout. However the game does use a lot of romanji randomly.

The starting screen menu
Story Load Bingo
Begin a game in Story mode. The story is the same for all characters. Load a Story mode save file. A grid of the major enemies is displayed. If one is defeated their box will be crossed out.
Free Load Teach
Begin a randomized game in Free mode. Load a Free mode save file. The 2 brothers will teach the game. It is dialog intensive and may not be helpful for non-Japanese readers.

Turn flow[edit]

Options menu on your turn
ダイス (Daisu) アイテム (Aitemu)
Dice Items
アクション (Akushon) データ (Deta)
Action Data

After starting a game the turn order will be decided. Each player will in the decided order have these options on their turn. Unlike the romanji options in the main menu these are in katakana. Here is a translation for the menu to the right. Rolling the dice will progress your turn. All of the options do what they say. Please note that Data is about seeing your stats and not about the saving or loading of game data.

What happens each turn
  1. Begin turn.
  2. Use items or actions.
  3. Roll 1 or 2 dice to move.
    • Choose path if you reach an intersection.
  4. Event activates for where you landed. Most spaces are randomized but still closely related to the type of space you landed on.
  5. Turn ends.

Dice[edit]

When choosing to roll dice you have 2 options. You can either roll 1 die without any penalty or you can roll 2 dice and take half a HP segment worth of damage.

Stats[edit]

Each character starts out the game with their own predetermined stats. Here is an overview of what the stats are and what they do.
