Pac-Man Plus Pattern Template

Due to the random behavior of the ghosts after eating power pellets or bonus items, dedicated patterns for Pac-Man Plus machines are rare, but they do exist. In the wiki spirit, everyone is invited to upload their favorite Pac-Man Plus patterns, to this page. In order to assist you with making that possible, please click on the Pattern Template thumbnail and use the image contained there.

"Switchback Dotcrusher" pattern[edit]

Pacplus-switchbackdotcrusher.png
  • This pattern is safe to use on all boards from the first (cola can) to the fifteenth (3rd pancake). On the sixteenth board and above, the default ghost behavior changes and utilizing this pattern will result in a quick, untimely death.
  • This pattern clears all dots on the board, except for five located directly to the upper right of the left tunnel, and those located in the four energizer alleyways.
  • It is highly recommended to prepare yourself for this pattern by pushing the joystick to the right during the "READY!" sequence. All turns must be executed tightly without hesitation.
  • If timed properly, the pattern should conclude with you arriving at the second bonus item just in time to munch it and turn the ghosts invisible. Since their invisible behavior is different on each level, it is impossible to continue the pattern from this point. However, it is often recommended to continue clockwise around the ghost pen in order to munch anywhere from one to three invisible ghosts. From this point on, you're on your own!
  • The pattern is reliable upto the pink line, just after you turn away from the power pellet. If Pokey decides to move upwards towards you rather than away or into the tunnel, you must abort the pattern, but at that point, you shouldn't have trouble clearing the remaining dots.

However, this pattern, right from the first board, does NOT work with the Jakks 2008 Plug In Play games for your TV.

"Drunken Doublecross" pattern[edit]

Pacplus-drunkendoublecross.png
  • This pattern is safe to use on all boards from the sixteenth (4th pancake) onwards. It has been tested (as of January 18th, 2008) up to the thirty-first board (19th pancake).
  • This pattern clears all dots on the board, except those located in the four energizer alleyways and a few additional below the upper two energizers.
  • It is highly recommended to prepare yourself for this pattern by pushing the joystick to the right during the "READY!" sequence. The joystick should always be held in the direction you're travelling, and all turns must be executed tightly without hesitation.
  • It may appear that you will collide with Pinky while travelling on the yellow path below the lower right energizer, but do not balk. Pinky will turn up the energizer alleyway at the last second and allow you to pass safely.
  • If you're using this pattern on the 4th, 5th, 6th, or 7th pancake boards, when arriving at the intersection of the pink and orange paths (point 1), it is recommended but not necessary to follow the orange path.
    • If you decide to follow the orange path, hesitate for a split second at the upper right corner of the ghost pen (point 2) and then continue on. This will allow you to munch the bonus item and Clyde near-simultaneously, and be in a position to munch the three remaining ghosts while they're vulnerable. Then, feel free to complete the remainder of the board at your leisure.
    • If you decide not to follow the orange path, you can drop down below the ghost pen to munch the bonus item and complete the remainder of the board at your leisure.
  • If you're using this pattern on the 8th pancake board or above, do NOT follow the orange path at point 1, but instead continue from point 1 by using the "Drunken Doublecross" 8th pancake endgame pattern shown below.

"Drunken Doublecross" 8th pancake endgame pattern[edit]

Pacplus-drunkendoublecross-endgame.png
  • This pattern is safe to use on all boards from the twentieth (8th pancake) onwards. It has been tested (as of January 18th, 2008) up to the thirty-first board (19th pancake).
  • This pattern, when used in conjunction with the "Drunken Doublecross" pattern above, clears all dots and energizers on the board. It also munches the second bonus item to appear.
  • The joystick should always be held in the direction you're travelling, and all turns must be executed tightly without hesitation.
  • Follow the "Drunken Doublecross" pattern up to the intersection of the pink and orange paths (point 1). From that point, switch to this endgame pattern, beginning at the red mark.
  • This pattern will terminate when the last dot is munched at the pink mark. Total scoring should be 7600 points per board when following this pattern.

256 Board - Split-screen[edit]

Pac-man Plus pacplus.png

When you reach the ninth pancake, it will continue until you reach the 256 board. This is the split screen.

There are patterns for this, and also nine hidden dots on the right side.
