There are four playable races in the universe of Pardus. Humans, Rashkir, Keldon, and Ska'ari.

Humans[edit]

Humans occupy the Federation Human Core(FHC for short) and Federation South Human(FSH for short, more recent then the FHC), and players starting as human will start in one of these two clusters, meaning joining the Federation on the first day is possible. Humans have their part in the backstory as one of thievery, having stolen their first space-age technology from another race. Humans have average skills to start, with the stand out skill being hacking, asteroid mining and fuel collecting, which starts at fifteen instead of ten like the other races.

Rashkir[edit]

Rashkir occupy the Federation Rashkir Core(FRC), the Union Rashkir Core(URC), and the Union North Rashkir(UNR), and players starting as Rashkir will start in one of these three clusters, meaning joining either the Federation or Union on the first day is possible. Rashkir have their part in the backstory as one of war, hatred, and overcoming differences for a common goal. They stop fighting each other to fight off the Ska'ari, and, in the process gain their own warp drive technology. Rashkir have average collecting and hacking/cloaking, but start with better combat skills.

Rashkir are green-skinned, with prominent bony ridges on their skulls. They are on average bigger built and stronger than the other humanoid races, and are considered the most warlike and belligerent of the Pardus races.

Keldon[edit]

Keldon, the first race into space occupy the Empire Keldon Core(EKC), and the Union Keldon Core(UKC), and players starting as Keldon will start in one of these two clusters, meaning joining either the Empire or Union on the first day is possible. Keldon have their part in the backstory as being the first with warp drive technology. Keldon have average combat, collecting and hacking skills, but start with a higher cloaking skill and engineering skill, fifteen instead of ten, and a map pack 2.

Keldon are sinuous and reptilian, with long prehensile tails. They are highly intelligent and make good scientists and researchers... and, if anecdotal evidence is to be believed, the best dancers in the Pardus universe.

Ska'ari[edit]

Ska'ari occupy the Empire Ska'ari Core(ESC), and the Empire West Ska'ari(EWS), and players starting as Ska'ari will start in one of these two clusters, meaning joining the Empire on the first day is possible. Ska'ari have their backstory as one of chance, and opportunism. Ska'ari have average combat, hacking and cloaking skills, but start wigh higher gas and energy collecting skills, as well as a Rustclaw. Ska'ari are the only race to start with a ship other then the Sabre.

Ska'ari are a silicon-based insectoid race, often referred to in pilot's slang as "crabs". His Imperial Majesty, Emperor Lar'nak, is a Ska'ari.
