In the lobby, Marlon Rimes tells you that he lied to avoid Sasha testifying, and also said that the calendar was Sasha's. The Calendar is updated in the Court Record.

Trial Begins[edit]

Sasha Buckler takes the stand after quite a dramatic entry.

Buckler's Testimony: Hearing the Noise[edit]

Buckler's Testimony
- Hearing the Noise -
  1. I admit I heard Orla summoning me with a loud noise.
  2. But the aquarium guest's scream I heard over the walkie-talkie was more urgent.
  3. I talked to Norma DePlume first and then went to the pool room with the security guard.
  4. The equipment was everywhere, and... the captain was lying in the middle of it all.

Unfortunately, Buckler cannot recall if she heard Orla's call first or DePlume's scream. You have to figure it out yourself.

Cross-Examination: Hearing the Noise[edit]

Press the fourth statement. When asked, choose "The things scattered around". Sasha says that those items were props for the new show, the flyers of which you have. The Swashbuckler Flyer is updated in the Court Record. The fourth statement is replaced by a new one:

  • The props for the new show were everywhere, and... the captain was in the middle of it all.

Press the new statement. Choose "Yes, there is". You say that the scarf was not a part of the costume, but Sasha says that it had fallen on top of Shipler after his death. Something doesn't add up now. When asked, present the red scarf. Since it fell when the coins did, and it remained there, the body was not pulled underwater. Thus, Shipley was already dead when the scarf fell, and the bag of coins is not the murder weapon! You propose that after DePlume saw Orla headbutting Shipley, Orla dragged him up to the side of the pool and knocked everything down to attract attention.

Blackquill now asks you how Shipley was killed, if not by the coins nor the headbutting. Choose "Falling". If the pool were empty previously, Shipley could have easily fallen to his death, as the pool was 65 feet deep! You ask Sasha about the tricks Orla can do and one particular catches your eye. Choose "The lifesaver trick". The real culprit manipulated Orla using the whistle to "save" Shipley.

After Orla finishes a live demo of the trick, the judge asks Blackquill to investigate further. Just then, Fulbright appears with the updated autopsy report. Shipley's Autopsy Report is updated in the Court Record. It confirms your theory, but Blackquill doesn't object (something's not right). But for now, Orla's verdict.

Ora Shipley is found...

The New Arrest[edit]

Blackquill thanks you for the truth (oh no), and orders Fulbright to arrest a new suspect for the murder: Sasha Buckler! He claims that as the orca's trainer, only she could have done what you suggested. Also, only the victim and Buckler had the security card to enter the Pool Room.

According to the security logs, only Buckler had entered the room the previous night, and nobody since then. As Buckler is taken away, you plan to get to the bottom of this by investigating further...
