As the player starts the game, they will find a letter from the Ringtown Ranger Leader Spenser inviting them to Fall City to meet him so he can see their potential.
Once they meet up with him, they will hear a sound which is a scuffle between a Houndoom and a Minun or Plusle, based on the player's gender. Spenser shows them how to use the Capture Styler to capture the Minun or Plusle. After that is done, he takes them to their Ranger Base in Ringtown to meet the other Rangers on the team and their adventure begins with missions to complete.
