Vaniville Town, a humble settlement in the southern end of Kalos. You have just moved here from a distant region with your mother, the famed Rhyhorn racer, Grace. This is where your rivals live, as well as where your Pokémon adventure will begin!
Getting ready for your journey[edit]
You will be awakened by a rather aggressive Fletching bumping you in your sleep. Your pajamas are no good for adventuring, so look at the mirror to change to some normal clothes. Walk downstairs to meet your mom, then go outside. You will be greeted by two of your neighbors. The first is Shauna, a girl interested in both Pokémon and puzzle-solving. The other neighbor depends on the gender of your character. Serena will accompany Shauna if you're a boy while Calem will be your rival if you're a girl.
Your new neighbors will say that Kalos's renowned Pokémon researcher, Professor Sycamore, has requested five kids to go on a journey together, including you! They will instruct you to go to Aquacorde Town, where you can get a Pokémon! While you can explore more of the town, there isn't many interesting things to do here, so go down the path to the left of your house to the gate, which opens up to Route 1, the pathway to Aquacorde!
Route 1[edit]
The first route in your journey is a simple passage straight to Aquacorde. It is decorated with beautiful flowers and trees but it is completely empty otherwise. Without any Pokémon that might jump out or any items to collect, you can go straight down this short pathway to your destination: Aquacorde Town.
Back from Aquacorde[edit]
After you've visited Aquacorde and got your first Pokémon, it is time to head back home. Go inside and your mom will notice your Poké Ball, and congratulates you for becoming a Pokémon Trainer. She will also read Professor Sycamore's letter, she will give you some extra clothes, a potion, and a Town Map for your journey!
As you leave the house, your mom's Rhyhorn will bid you farewell. It has known you since you were born, and it's not going to see you again for a long time. With the letter delivered, you can finally set off on your adventure. Head back to Aquacorde and go north into Route 2!
