Test Chamber 09[edit]

  • As you enter the chamber, you will notice an AFP in the middle of the room. Step on it and you will find that Wheatley isn't quite dead after all.
  • You will not be able to reach the ceiling. Let GLaDOS adjust the AFP a few times and then finally the ceiling.
  • Place a blue portal on the ceiling above the raised ledge, and an orange portal on the newly lowered ceiling.
  • Step on the AFP. You will find yourself on the ledge.

Take note of the position of the angled panels, the laser, and the raised button.

  1. Place a blue portal on the angled platform opposite the button, and fall through. You'll hit the AFP and be flung back next to the raised button. (If you don't land on the AFP, just step on it after falling through and it will have the same effect.)
  2. Press the button. The redirection cube will land on another raised platform.
  3. Place a blue portal on the other angled platform, facing the ledge with the cube, and repeat the same process as earlier.
  4. Grab the cube, jump down and use it to redirect the laser to the random wall between you and the laser receiver.
  5. Place a blue portal on the angled platform next to this wall (it should be next to the raised platform where the exit is.) Repeat the same process as earlier to get onto the ledge with the exit.
  6. Place a blue portal where the laser meets the wall, and an orange portal on the other side of the wall such that the laser falls onto the receiver. The exit should now be open.

Walk through the exit and then onto the elevator to the next chamber.

Test Chamber 10[edit]

Take note of the position of the AFP, the laser, the cube and the button.

  1. Place a blue portal as high as possible on the wall opposite the raised ledge where the cube is.
  2. Place an orange portal in the pit right next to the ledge. Jump into the portal from the top and you will be flung onto the platform with the cube.
  3. Grab the cube and use the orange portal to get back to the ground floor.
  4. Step on the AFP with the cube. You will be flung into a glass wall.
  5. You will find that the laser emitter and receiver are already activated. Place the cube in front of the emitter to deactivate the receiver. You will find that the glass wall has now retracted into the floor.
  6. Jump down to the floor and step on the AFP again. You will be flung to an even higher level, and once again be blocked by a glass wall.
  7. Press the button to your left. A redirection cube will fall out of a chute, onto an AFP and follow the same path you did, finally ending up near you.
  8. Create an orange portal on the wall opposite the laser receiver on this floor.
  9. Grab the redirection cube, jump down to where the laser is.
  10. Move the normal cube out of the way and use the redirection cube to redirect the laser to the wall on the far side of the chamber.
  11. Place a blue portal where the laser hits the wall. If both portals are placed correctly, the laser should now be going into the laser receiver on the second floor, and the glass walls on both floors should be retracted.
  12. Grab the normal cube and step onto the AFP at the ground floor. You will be flung by a series of AFPs to where the exit is.
  13. Place the cube on the button.

Walk through the exit and then onto the elevator to the next chamber.

Test Chamber 11[edit]

You will encounter Hard Light Bridges for the first time in this chamber.

  1. Place a blue portal on the wall where the light bridge meets it and an orange portal on the wall right next to the exit. You will find that the light bridge passes through portals, and that you now have a way to the exit across the pit.
  2. Walk over to the other side and press the button. Some cubes should start falling from a chute into the toxic goo. These cubes will keep falling for some time.
  3. Walk over on the light bridge over to the entrance to where the cubes are falling, and place an orange portal on the wall opposite the entrance. If done right, the bridge will disappear from under your feet but you should fall on the newly appeared light bridge.
  4. Walk into the entrance and place an orange portal on the wall next to the chute lower than where you're standing. Again, you will fall onto the newly appeared light bridge.
  5. Walk over to the edge, and place an orange portal on the wall next to you, lower than where you're standing. A cube should fall on this bridge.
  6. Grab the cube and walk into the portal. You will find yourself right where you began, except with a cube this time.
  7. Place an orange portal on the wall opposite to where the button is (The button is on the left side of the chamber), such that you can walk through the portal, across the bridge and drop the cube safely onto the button. (You can also jump to where the button is. If so, make an orange portal anywhere in the pit and jump onto the light bridge.)
  8. Walk into the orange portal so that you arrive back where you started.
  9. Cross the pit as you did earlier (or just shoot an orange portal on the other side and walk into the blue one.)

Walk through the exit and onto the elevator to the next chamber.

Test Chamber 12[edit]

Take note of the position of the buttons and the laser bridge.

  1. Place a blue portal on the wall above the light bridge and an orange wall anywhere accessible and walk through. You will land on the light bridge.
  2. Place a blue portal where the light bridge meets the wall and another on the wall next where you entered from. If done right, you should now have a light bridge extending across the pit of toxic goo.
  3. Walk through the portal and get off of the light bridge on the platform where the button is (the one you can press).
  4. You will notice a cube chute above a pit behind you. Place an orange portal such that the light bridge coming out of it is directly below the chute.
  5. Press the button. A cube will fall onto the light bridge. Grab the cube and walk through the portal.
  6. Place an orange portal below the platform where you came in from. If done right, you should now have a light bridge extending across the pit of toxic goo.
  7. Walk through the portal, taking the cube with you, all the way over to where the exit is.
  8. Place the cube on the button.

Walk through the exit and then onto the elevator to the next chamber.

Test Chamber 13[edit]

The key to disabling a turret is to tip it over.

  1. Grab the first turret you see when you walk in and drop it so it falls.
  2. Place a blue portal behind the second turret, and an orange one wherever accessible. Don't worry, there is a slight delay before the turret starts shooting, so you should be safe.
  3. Disable the second turret, and place an orange portal high on the wall in front of which it stood.
  4. Place a blue portal under the third turret. It should fall out of the orange portal, getting disabled in the process.
  5. Place a blue portal on the ceiling above the fourth turret, and an orange portal below the cube. The cube should fall through, tipping over the turret and disabling it.
  6. Repeat the same for the fifth turret with one of the other cubes available.
  7. Also repeat this process for the two turrets on the far side of the large room. Shoot a blue portal above them, an orange portal anywhere accessible and drop cubes through (Feel free to reuse cubes).
  8. Grab the turret closer to you and disable it.
  9. Place one of the cubes on the button.

Walk through the exit and drop down through the partially destroyed floor. Follow the railing, and walk through the circular door.

Test Chamber 14[edit]

This one involves lasers. Note the redirection cube next to the laser source, and the three new laser receivers. You will find that you need to activate all three receivers for the exit to open.

  1. Use the redirection cube to redirect the laser such that it passes through the receiver closest to you and one of the receivers farther away.
  2. Place a blue portal where the laser hits the wall after passing through two receivers, and an orange portal on the wall next to the other receiver, such that the laser passes through the portals and into the third receiver. If done right, all three receivers should be activated now.

Walk through the exit and then onto the elevator to the next chamber.

Test Chamber 15[edit]

  1. Place a blue portal on the wall where the light bridge meets it, and an orange portal on the wall right before the turret. This should block the turret's red beam, and you can walk safely up to it.
  2. Get as close to the turret as you can, and place an orange portal on the wall such that now both you and the turret are on the same side of the light bridge.
  3. Grab the turret and disable it.
  4. Place an orange portal on the far right wall, at about ground level.
  5. Walk through the blue portal. You will find yourself on the opposite corner of the large chamber.
  6. Place an orange portal on the wall to your left, right where part of the top walkway seems to be sticking out.
  7. Step onto the AFP near you. If done right, the light bridge coming out of the wall should block your flight, and you should land onto the extended walkway.
  8. Walk along the walkway to where the four turrets are guarding the cube. Jump down behind them and decimate them all (Just grab them and throw them away, or grab the cube and use it to tip them all over).
  9. Grab the cube and place it on the button. Be ready for two turrets to appear.
  10. Quickly place a blue portal behind them once the glass lowers, and on orange portal anywhere accessible that is out of their view.
  11. Walk through the portal and take out the turrets.

Walk through the exit and then onto the elevator to the next chamber.

Test Chamber 16[edit]

  1. Stand on the red button. You will find a laser shoots down from the ceiling next to you.
  2. Place a blue portal where the laser meets the floor, and an orange portal on the wall where the three turrets are aiming. If done right, the laser should now start burning up the turrets.
  3. Grab the normal cube and place it on the button.
  4. Use the redirection cube to redirect the laser coming out of the orange portal to burn the three turrets.
  5. Redirect the laser into the receiver on the wall using the redirection cube.

Walk through the exit and then onto the elevator to the next chamber.

Test Chamber 17[edit]

  1. Place a blue portal where the light bridge meets the wall, and an orange portal anywhere accessible.
  2. Walk through the portal and grab the cube. Do not walk off the bridge yet.
  3. Place an orange portal on the other wall. If done right, you should now have a light bridge above the button.
  4. Walk through the portal and place the cube on the bridge such that it blocks the laser and is right above the big red button.'
  5. Stand on the platform right before the ledge where the exit is, and place a blue portal anywhere you can see. This should remove the light bridge coming from the orange portal, thereby dropping the cube onto the button and letting the laser reach the receiver simultaneously. This, in effect, leads to the exit opening and the platform extending simultaneously.

Walk through the exit and then onto the elevator to the next chamber.
