The World Tour mode is the main mode for the Nintendo DS version of Pro Evolution Soccer 6. It is exclusive to the handheld as the Master League mode on other versions of the game was left out.

You team starts off in Group K and must rise through the groups until eventually reaching Group A. In Group K the teams are fairly easy to beat such as Saudi Arabia and Angola, and the teams you face generally get better the closest they are to Group A, where you'll face the some of the best football teams in the world like Spain and Italy.

On the main screen in World Tour mode there is a world map featuring your group dominance status and success rate. There are also small circles next to each continent on the side of the map, and one gets filled in every time you beat an opponent for the first time. They are split up like this:

  • Europe - Blue - 32 teams
  • Africa - Red - 8 teams
  • North America - Green - 4 teams
  • South America - Green - 8 teams
  • Asia/Oceania - Yellow - 5 teams

Coins[edit]

Like on other modes in PES6 you'll be collecting coins. If you beat a team you'll normally be rewarded with a silver coin. But if you thrash a team then you'll be rewarded with a gold coin. You don't get any coins for drawing or losing. You can also get gold coins if you pass a milestone such as 100 matches won or 500 goals scored, but these all don't have to be accumulated from the World Tour mode. The coins you earn then can be used in the Gacha-get.

Gacha-get[edit]

The Gacha-get is a new idea from Konami that has been implemented into the DS version of the game and is exclusive to the version. The coins you've earned by winning games can be spent here. It's like a transfer market but you don't know what player you're going to get because it's based a slot machine.

You drag a coin into the machine and turn the handle using the stylus. A player will come out and will join your team. If you place a gold coin into the machine then you're more likely to get a better player for your team. Once you get a player though you cannot reverse the process or sell the player for coins.

Group S[edit]

Once you beat every team in Group A a new group will be unlocked. Group S features Classic teams and they all must be beaten for you to complete the World Tour mode. Unfortunately the Classic teams don't actually include all-time great players and so the names are given to the players randomly by Konami. The classic teams are better than the present day teams and are harder to beat. The group consists of:

  • Classic England
  • Classic France
  • Classic Germany
  • Classic Italy
  • Classic Netherlands
  • Classic Argentina
  • Classic Brazil
