Attacks

• Coo Coo Punch: Von Kaiser rattles his head, makes a sound like a clock, and throws a jab at you.
• Right Uppercut: Like Glass Joe, he uppercuts you, making you dodge left or right. His uppercuts are easy to anticipate.
• Cower: He cowers behind his gloves before peeking out to say "Mommy?"

Notes and Strategy

• He'll dodge if you try swiping at him sometimes.
• Depending on how you start comboing him he'll have his guard at his chest or face so you can't jab him if you hooked to start and vice versa.

The fight is fairly simple. His jabs and uppercut are very easy to dodge and counter and if you want to end the fight quickly star punches will do the trick

Star opportunities

• Hit him when he says "Mommy?" as he's cowering.
• Counter his punches. The techniques are similar to those of Glass Joe.
• When he dodges hit him in the head as he's coming back

Knockdown and Knockout opportunities

• He still has the same weakness from his debut on the NES. Stun him then quickly follow up with a Star Punch for a knockdown.
• Hit a Star Punch when he says "Mommy?" When he's cowering for a knockdown.
• Hit a three Star punch for when he says "Mommy?" when he's cowering for a One-Hit KO.

Challenges

• Defeat Von Kaiser and land EVERY punch.

Self-explanatory. The easiest way to complete this is to finish one of the other two challenges below, particularly the third one.

• TKO Von Kaiser...in under a minute.

Note that it says TKO. So you have to score three knockdowns on him before the clock passes 2:00. This is mostly down to technique. He'll start with three Coo Coo Jabs. Counter the first one to get a star, then dodge the second one, smack him with a jab, then follow up with the Star Punch to score knockdown #1. #2 Is easier due to after you counter his Jab he will cower. #3 is simply to keep an eye for uppercuts, counter the first punch, dodge the second, then use the stun-and-Star combo again.

• Defeat Von Kaiser using only 5 punches!

There is a precise plan to pulling this one off. You must counter his first three punches, earning a Star each time, then dodge his fourth punch and reply with one jab to stun him. After recovering, he'll cower. As the Knockdown Opportunities notes, Hit him with a three Star Punch when he says "Mommy" and you'll score the KO on the fifth punch.

• Fake Uppercut: He gets into position to do an uppercut but doesn't do one.
• Spinning Attack: He goes blitz and does a spinning attack. If you get hit you get knocked down instantly!

Notes and strategy

After getting out of hit stun you can do two delayed punches. If you mess up then he'll dodge.

He can dodge your star punches now.

The fight is a lot harder this time. You'll need more stars if you want to do a stun and star method of knockdowns and he's faster as well. To counterbalance this there are more chances for you to get stars. Just focus and be ready to counter and the fight should go well.

Star Opportunities

• When he dodges hit him as he's coming back. His left and right dodges are counted as different star opportunities.
• Counter his punches.
• Counter his fake uppercuts.

Knockdown Opportunities

• When he's stunned hit him with a three star punch for a knockdown.
• After finding 7 unique star opportunities each star punch is a knockdown.

Challenges

Win the fight and evade EVERY spinning attack!

Once you know that the spinning attack is a one hit knockdown you probably do this normally. In case you don't know how to dodge it just dodge to the opposite side that he spins to.

Win the fight without dodging or ducking ANY fake uppercuts!

This challenge can be a bit tricky but the best way to do this is to just counter all uppercuts, real or fake.
