For the NES game, see Rambo (NES).

In 1985, Pack-In-Video obtained the rights to develop video games based on the Rambo movie series and publish them in Japan. The first game in the series was created for the MSX and features Rambo with an arsenal of weapons and grenades on well guarded military grounds. Similar to the plot of the movie, his main objective is to rescue the girl from captivity.

You begin the game with only a knife, but you can collect several different weapons, including a rocket launcher, by defeating enemies, or blowing up buildings with grenades. There are minor puzzles in the game where you have to figure out how to get across to a certain area without putting yourself in fatal danger. You fight riflemen, archers, snakes, and other enemies. A few different endings are offered in this game depending on how you choose to rescue the girl. The best ending is obtained by safely escaping with the girl.
