Rampage Puzzle Attack is a puzzle game that was developed by Finnish development house Ninai Games for Midway Games, and initially released on the Game Boy Advance in the US on November 29, 2001, but later also in the EU on December 7 of the same year; it is the fifth title in the Rampage series, and players can initially select the three mutants of the original Rampage (George the gorilla, Lizzie the lizard, and Ralph the wolf), but additional mutants who were invented for Rampage: World Tour, Rampage 2: Universal Tour, and Rampage Through Time can be unlocked through the game's "Rescue" mode. The mutants will appear on screen during gameplay (either climbing the side of the playfield or caged at the bottom of it) - and the gameplay is similar to that of Ninai's earlier Microsoft Windows title, Drop Mania, but it could also be compared to Tetris Attack and its related games. The basic idea is that the player must select two of six colored blocks to get dropped to the playfield at a time, and the blocks then merge into contiguous areas; once the player chooses to select a flashing "detoblock" of matching color to be dropped to the playfield and land on an area, the entire area will be removed and scored. This can lead to chains and combos, which in turn results in higher scores.
