This guide is for the Game Boy Color version. For all other consoles, see Rayman.

Rayman is a 2D side-scrolling platformer for the game boy color. It shares the same plot as the original Rayman game, but with notable differences. It's artwork and music were recycled from Rayman 2: The Great Escape, and the game uses a password feature instead of a save function. Many characters are absent and all of the worlds are original with no world bosses in each. Other than a few common enemies, the only characters in this version are Rayman, Mr. Dark, the Tings, and the Electoons.

In the intro cutscene, Rayman was taking a nap one day until he was awaken by tiny fairies called "Tings". They tell him that the evil Mr. Dark has captured Electoons, and is stealing their power. Rayman springs into action to free the Toons and to put a stop to the villain.
