In this chapter a new mob is introduced- Licker Betas. An advanced form of the Lickers from previous Resident Evil games.

[1]

Before you run up the stairs to the lab, turn to the right and run all the way to the end. Underneath the catwalk going into the labs is the BSAA Emblem right above the water.

As you enter the labs, you can see a cut scene of a Licker scurrying away as it clings to the ceiling. There aren't any enemies to encounter yet, but it's best to stock up on ammo and supplies.

In the first room to your left, you can pick up some ammo, grenades, and read some documents.

Leave the room and continue down the corridor. Enter the next door that leads to the corridor blocked by crates where the Licker crawled over to. There is a Green Herb before entering the next room.

In the new room, there are flowers in research stasis pods and a computer that be turned on to read an e-mail from an employee if you want. As you leave the room, follow the bloody, clawed up corridor. Break the crates as you follow the path to the sealed door at the end of the hallway.

Open the vaulted door to enter a bloody room full of mutilated corpses of flesh. Open the room by flipping the lever to open the doors. As you open the doors, you can see a brief cut scene of another Licker crawling away.

Shoot the glass to enter the room filled with animal test subjects. In this room, there is a green herb in the far corner of the room. As you walk toward the end of the test subject room, two Lickers jump out of a glass room and crawl toward you and Sheva.

The Lickers are some seriously strong baddies if you haven't upgraded a shotgun or a magnum. A few well-placed shotguns shells or magnum rounds would dispatch them.

Be careful, as the Lickers can attack from a distance with their tongues while the other one can slash you. Be careful not to get too close to them. They can pounce on you or your partner and they can insta-kill you if you don't free yourself or your partner in time.

If you can knock them onto their back, and you are fast enough, you can run up to them to impale their exposed hearts. They will drop a new gem- one Lion Heart and you will earn the achievement Heart Stopper.

After killing the two Lickers, walk into the room they broke out of and enter the vaulted door. You're temporarily safe from anymore Lickers.

There is a room on your right that has a Red Herb and the best machinegun in the game, the AK-74 machinegun. It has the lowest ammo capacity in-game, but each bullet has more damage than any machinegun.

As you leave the room, follow the hallway and up the stairs. You will soon pass by rooms filled with more Lickers crawling all over their rooms.

Walk by slowly as running might alert them to your presence and slowly open the door into another set of rooms with more Lickers. Walk passed them to a door you have to duo kick and run to an elevator. The sound of you and your partner alerts the Lickers to you. Hold them off until the elevator doors open. Killing the Lickers will net you at least 3 Lion Heart gems.

Before duo kicking the door, you can place a few proximity mines to make killing the Lickers a little easier as you make your way to the door before you sprint to the elevator. However, there are a horde of Lickers to go through. All the Lickers from both rooms will be alerted to you from kicking open the door, so unless you have a fully upgraded shotgun or magnum to dispatch all the mobs, just hold them off until the elevator doors open up.

After the elevator doors open to the next floor, you can restock on some handgun, machinegun, and shotgun ammo. Along with some hand grenades and a Green Herb.

There you will fight the final boss of the chapter- U-8 Uroboros. It's kind of like a spider and a crab's baby, but uglier.

It's carapace is bulletproof, but aim at it's two legs' ligaments glowing red. After it's legs are shot at it will fall and faceplant into the platform and knock itself out cold for a bit. If you have grenades you can throw grenades into it's gaping mouth or shoot bullets into it. Throwing a grenade into it's mouth it will blow deal a lot of damage and open its carapace piece by piece, allowing you to shoot at it's exposed body.

Sometimes it will climb up and slam the platform to knock you off balance. It will them crawl toward you to slash at you with it's pincers. When it's slashing at you, dodge it with a quick time event. You can also dodge it knocking you off balance, by either running to the opposite side of the platform it's smashing into. It will also climb up to release flying insects you can shoot to obtain more grenades to lob into it's mouth.

You can chuck grenades or pump lead into it's gaping mouth after shooting it's legs about 3-6 times until you successfully defeat it with your weapon of choice.

If you saved an RPG, a well-placed shot into it's gaping mouth can instantly kill the boss. If you planned on speed running the chapter.
