In this walkthrough, you'll encounter not just zombies but bosses that will take more than bullets to knock them down. If you enounter quick time events, it will be in italic. If it's a boss fight, it will be in bold. This well help lower the confusion. Most of all, if there is danger, there would be a warning attached to it.
Pay attention to your surroundings as there is a few more to look out for. Look out for boxes that you can break to get more ammo. And look out for hidden sigmas that would reveal hidden files for the Special Features.
Last of all, if you're starting the game, you'll go straight to the "Prologue" which is the next page. Go through that and you'll be able to start in any chapter with any character partaking in the story with exception to Ada's Chapters.
Perhaps what you'll encounter the most is at time's, you'll be separated from your partner, forcing you into a solo mission until you reunite with your partner again. Should you encounter that part, the character's name will be in capital letters followed by colons. Example LEON: Fend off zombies HELENA: Goes over and open the door. And again even in solo, quite time events and boss fights will be highlighted as well.
In terms of difficulty, Amateur is recommended for people new to the Resident Evil universe. Normal is balanced between easy and hard. Anything above Normal will require strategy and problem solving before you lose your life. Having a co-op would've been easier but you'll encounter various scenarios in terms of teamwork.
If you got totally lost or has a hard time with some quick time events, be thankful that there's an "Auto" option available on Easy and Normal. But if you prefer to do the quick time events and finding your way around yourself, choose those options to on. Either way, don't let go of your controller until the chapter is finally over.
