River City: Rival Showdown is an enhanced remake of River City Ransom for the Nintendo 3DS. It was released in Japan on October 27, 2016 and North America and Europe on November 21, 2017. The game celebrates the 30th anniversary of the Kunio-kun series. It includes a fighting game, Double Dragon Duel, that is part of the story, but can also be played separately. It was later ported to the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Windows and released on October 12, 2023.
