SCI Stage 4 Target Car.png

Once Gibson and Broady's red Nissan 300ZX has reappeared on the screen, you'll have to step on that gas pedal to accelerate it, as you pass between ten crates and shift into high gear once it has reached 200 km/h; once you've done so, you shall have to turn to the left as you pass between eight more crates, then turn to the right while watching out for a six-wheeled Airport Lines coach driving into view at an intersection from the right side of the screen - and once you have passed it, you will have to turn to the right again while watching out for another six-wheeled Airport Lines coach driving into view at another intersection from the left side of the screen. Once you have passed it, you will have to turn to the right once again, while watching out for a third six-wheeled Airport Lines coach driving into view at a third intersection from the screen's right side; once you pass it, you will have to turn to the left and drive into a tunnel. Once you have come out of the tunnel, you will have to turn to the left again as a right-pointing arrow appears on the screen and you come to a forked junction - and once you have turned to the right it shall start raining (but it will stop again once you come to the point where both paths meet). However, if you chose to turn left at the forked junction instead, you will now have to turn to the right and turn to the left as you come to the point where both paths meet; regardless of which path you took, you'll then have to turn to the right as you pass two barriers and turn to the left as you come to the target car (at this point you will receive 10000 points for every second you have remaining as your time is extended by 55, 60, 65 or 70 seconds, the target car's damage meter will appear on the left side of the screen and the blue light will reappear on top of the Nissan 300ZX as its siren starts to get heard from the Yamaha YM-2610). The six blue British sports cars that are escorting the target car (which is, yet again, indicated by an arrow in its colour and the text of "CRIMINAL" over it) are also worth 5000 points if you ram into them and force them to crash - and once that target car's damage meter is at 35%, its back doors will be destroyed, and its now-exposed passenger will start throwing Molotov cocktails out of it onto the track. Once the target car's damage meter is at 55% the helicopter which appeared in the three previous stages shall fly down into view from the top of the screen and airdrop a fourth rocket launcher onto the Nissan 300ZX; once it lands on it, its ammunition of five shots (that shall, yet again, further damage the target car by 10% when fired) will appear in the bottom of the screen and disappear when each one gets fired. Once the target car's damage meter has been completely filled it will burst into flames and stop - and the screen shall now cut to a shot of Gibson and Broady arresting the target car's driver (and its passenger, Bob Black, for the second time), as the text "STAGE 4 COMPLETED" appears above it and you receive a bonus of 10000 points for every second you have remaining. It's also worth noting that you must again avoid falling off the sides of the track while pursuing the target car in this stage.

The Taito Monitoring System shall then come back up into view from the bottom of the screen again as it adjusts its channel to 4 and volume to almost maximum (and a silhouette of the enemy helicopter from the second stage with the text of "A MYSTERIOUS ENEMY!" repeated three times to its right under it); its green "BUSY" light shall then come on as Nancy (World: "Halen") appears upon its square blue screen, followed by the fifth stage's target vehicle (which is an articulated truck and the second target vehicle to have a driver who's named) as the following text appears letter-by-letter under it:

TONY RAYMOND, IS
FLEEING WITH HIS
CONVOY TOWARD THE
DESERT. BRING HIM
TO JUSTICE. OVER.

The game shall then proceed to the fifth stage (which features, as that warning below the Taito Monitoring System implied, that enemy helicopter again).
