Stage 1: Entrance to the darkside (Visiting road to the demon world (魔界参道?) in Japanese version)
Kagekiyo has again risen from the dead and started his journey across the ancient Japan filled with evil.
Intro[edit]
A cinematic stage where Kagekiyo starts his trip in the heaven. Just watch him running over the corridor, onto the dragon and kill it, then fall below the cloud.
Stage 1-1[edit]
Welcome to the hell. Start your trip with a few spirits. You will encounter a ghost samurai after the spirits, and you need to knock his sword back before dealing damage, in order to collect his Life drop. The next area has more spirits, and a few spears on the ground, move with caution. Another ghost samurai awaits before the exit.
Stage 1-2[edit]
This area starts to feature landscapes. A skull dog is on the first higher platform, and will run to you when close, kill it for your first Coin. You will soon be surrounded by five spirits, who will try to run to you one by one. Continue to the right. You will find some green floating platforms along with spears. The good thing is, your attacks will not hit these platforms anymore. You will find floating rocks (known as Kanameishi, but only small version) at the next spear area. Proceed and kill more skull dogs and spirits. You may need to use down thrust against dogs on the lower ground.
Stage 1-3[edit]

He will rise from the ground and start attacking with his sword. He has two attack patterns, by either walk over and cut, or jump before cut. As a warmup boss, the strategy is easy. Simply crouch and watch him moving close, then make a crouch slash and turn into crouch guard to block his attack.
