Angela is weak physically but makes up for it with powerful damaging spells. All the spells she can learn do damage, but a few of the Rune Master's spells can do status effects in addition to damage. If you prefer fast-paced gameplay, you might want to avoid Angela because if you use her, you will spend a lot of time watching her spell animations over and over again. However, they can be quite powerful, especially when you use the elements that the monsters are weak against.

Starting Class: Magician[edit]

Tech: Double Attack

Spells

  • Learns
    • Holy Ball - 2 MP Single/Multi Target: Holy elemental damage.
    • Gem Missile - 2 MP Single/Multi Target: Earth elemental damage.
    • Air Blast - 2 MP Single/Multi Target: Wind/Thunder elemental damage.
    • Evil Gate - 2 MP Single/Multi Target: Dark elemental damage.
    • Ice Smash - 2 MP Single/Multi Target: Ice/Water elemental damage.
    • Fireball - 2 MP Single/Multi Target: Fire elemental damage.

She learns a lot of magic spells, and can even target all enemies with each of them, but has weak physical attack power. It's very possible that you may change her class before she learns all of her spells (namely Fireball and/or Ice Smash). If you do, she will simply learn those spells in her next class once you find the appropriate Spirit and level up again.

First Class Change[edit]

Light: Sorceress[edit]

Tech: Pink Typhoon - Single Target

Spells

  • Starts with
    • Holy Ball - 2 MP Single/Multi Target: Holy elemental damage.
    • Gem Missile - 2 MP Single/Multi Target: Earth elemental damage.
    • Air Blast - 2 MP Single/Multi Target: Wind/Thunder elemental damage.
    • Evil Gate - 2 MP Single/Multi Target: Dark elemental damage.
    • Ice Smash - 2 MP Single/Multi Target: Ice/Water elemental damage.
    • Fireball - 2 MP Single/Multi Target: Fire elemental damage.
  • Learns
    • Saint Beam - 5 MP Single Target: Heavy Holy elemental damage.
    • Earthquake - 4 MP Single Target: Heavy Earth elemental damage.
    • Thunderstorm - 4 MP Single Target: Heavy Wind/Thunder elemental damage.
    • Mega Splash - 4 MP Single Target: Heavy Ice/Water elemental damage.
    • Explode - 4 MP Single Target: Heavy Fire elemental damage.

The Sorceress learns several upper-level elemental spells, which help a lot while fighting five of the eight Godbeasts. These spells are also good for "sniping" single enemies with an appropriate elemental weakness. However, at this point in the game the more advanced spells cannot affect multiple targets.

Dark: Delvar[edit]

Tech: Star Attack - Single Target

Spells

  • Starts with
    • Holy Ball - 2 MP Single/Multi Target: Holy elemental damage.
    • Gem Missile - 2 MP Single/Multi Target: Earth elemental damage.
    • Air Blast - 2 MP Single/Multi Target: Wind/Thunder elemental damage.
    • Evil Gate - 2 MP Single/Multi Target: Dark elemental damage.
    • Ice Smash - 2 MP Single/Multi Target: Ice/Water elemental damage.
    • Fireball - 2 MP Single/Multi Target: Fire elemental damage.
  • Learns
    • Dark Force - 5 MP Single Target: Heavy Dark elemental damage.

Unlike the Sorceress and her five upper-level spells, the Delvar learns only one advanced elemental spell called Dark Force. However, Dark Force is slightly stronger than the Sorceress spells, and it is capable of bypassing barriers like Counter Magic. This gives the Delvar a clear advantage over the Sorceress against two of the eight God Beasts. The Delvar can also grow her Intelligence slightly faster than the Sorceress can, allowing the low level spells to hit with a bit extra force.

Second Class Change[edit]

Light/Light: Grand Devina[edit]

Requires Item: Arcane Book

Tech: Spiral Rod - Single Target

Spells

  • Starts with
    • Holy Ball - 2 MP Single/Multi Target: Holy elemental damage.
    • Gem Missile - 2 MP Single/Multi Target: Earth elemental damage.
    • Air Blast - 2 MP Single/Multi Target: Wind/Thunder elemental damage.
    • Evil Gate - 2 MP Single/Multi Target: Dark elemental damage.
    • Ice Smash - 2 MP Single/Multi Target: Ice/Water elemental damage.
    • Fireball - 2 MP Single/Multi Target: Fire elemental damage.
  • Upgrades
    • Saint Beam - 5 MP Single/Multi Target: Heavy Holy elemental damage.
    • Earthquake - 4 MP Single/Multi Target: Heavy Earth elemental damage.
    • Thunderstorm - 4 MP Single/Multi Target: Heavy Wind/Thunder elemental damage.
    • Mega Splash - 4 MP Single/Multi Target: Heavy Ice/Water elemental damage.
    • Explode - 4 MP Single/Multi Target: Heavy Fire elemental damage.
  • Learns
    • Double Spell - 9 MP Multi Target: Very heavy non-elemental damage.

The Grand Devina is very similar to the Arch Mage. The main difference is that the Grand Devina learns Double Spell and the Arch Mage learns Rainbow. Both spells are powerful non-elemental spells that hit all enemies. The Grand Devina has somewhat higher Strength and Intelligence than the Arch Mage does, while the Arch Mage has somewhat higher Spirit.

Light/Dark: Arch Mage[edit]

Requires Item: Book of Secrets

Tech: Dancing Rod - Single Target

    • Gem Missile - 2 MP Single/Multi Target: Earth elemental damage.
    • Air Blast - 2 MP Single/Multi Target: Wind/Thunder elemental damage.
    • Evil Gate - 2 MP Single/Multi Target: Dark elemental damage.
    • Ice Smash - 2 MP Single/Multi Target: Ice/Water elemental damage.
    • Fireball - 2 MP Single/Multi Target: Fire elemental damage.

    • Explode - 4 MP Single/Multi Target: Heavy Fire elemental damage.
  • Learns
    • Rainbow - 10 MP Multi Target: Very heavy non-elemental damage.

Dark/Light: Rune Master[edit]

Requires Item: Book of Rune

Tech: 10t - Single Target

Spells

  • Starts with
    • Holy Ball - 2 MP Single/Multi Target: Holy elemental damage.
    • Gem Missile - 2 MP Single/Multi Target: Earth elemental damage.
    • Air Blast - 2 MP Single/Multi Target: Wind/Thunder elemental damage.
    • Evil Gate - 2 MP Single/Multi Target: Dark elemental damage.
    • Ice Smash - 2 MP Single/Multi Target: Ice/Water elemental damage.
    • Fireball - 2 MP Single/Multi Target: Fire elemental damage.
  • Upgrades
    • Dark Force - Single/Multi Target: Heavy Dark elemental damage.
  • Learns
    • Stone Cloud - 7 MP Single Target: Very heavy Earth elemental damage; often causes petrification
    • Stun Wind - 7 MP Single Target: Very heavy Wind elemental damage; usually silences the target
    • Cold Breeze - 7 MP Single Target: Very heavy Ice elemental damage; turns target to snowman
    • Blaze Wall - 7 MP Single Target: Very heavy Fire elemental damage, but no special effect
    • DeathSpell - 8 MP Single Target: Causes instant death to enemy of same level or lower

The Rune Master learns the most powerful single-target elemental spells in the game. Three of these spells have special status effects on the enemy as well. This makes the Rune Master an especially potent sniper, provided the target has an elemental weakness. However, the high MP cost of these spells can be a serious problem in long dungeons or difficult boss fights. DeathSpell is the most powerful single-target spell in the game: it does 999 damage to the target regardless of magic defense and even works on bosses! The downside is that it only works on monsters that are the same level as you or lower.

Dark/Dark: Magus[edit]

Requires Item: Forbidden Book

Tech: Hot Shot - Single Target

Spells

  • Starts with
    • Holy Ball - 2 MP Single/Multi Target: Holy elemental damage.
    • Gem Missile - 2 MP Single/Multi Target: Earth elemental damage.
    • Air Blast - 2 MP Single/Multi Target: Wind/Thunder elemental damage.
    • Evil Gate - 2 MP Single/Multi Target: Dark elemental damage.
    • Ice Smash - 2 MP Single/Multi Target: Ice/Water elemental damage.
    • Fireball - 2 MP Single/Multi Target: Fire elemental damage.
    • Dark Force - 5 MP Single Target: Heavy Dark elemental damage.
  • Learns
    • Earthquake - 4 MPSingle Target
    • Thunderstorm - 4 MPSingle Target
    • Mega Splash - 4 MPSingle Target
    • Explode - 4 MP Single Target
    • Ancient - 12 MP Multi Target: Extreme non-elemental damage.

The Magus has the highest Intelligence of all Angela's classes. This allows her to get more damage out of humble, low-level spells than other classes can. Ancient is the most powerful multi target spell in the game; unfortunately, it comes with a hefty MP cost and the longest animation of any spell in the game. Another unfortunate fact is that the other advanced spells the Magus learns never become able to hit multiple targets.
