Takamatsu Castle Naval Battle (高松城水攻戦) is the name given to the battle that takes place in the territory of Motonari Mori, located along the shore. Motonari is a non-playable general, so his attacks may take some getting used to. You must fulfill certain requirements before he even makes an appearance on the map, which itself is riddled with hazards meant to disrupt your progress (though they also hurt his own soldiers).

Strategy[edit]

Proceed down the left or right of the map. Your targets are the squad leaders that flash on the map; these squad leaders also drop tamatebako. To cross to the other side of the map blocked by gates, climb a ramp where numerous archers are stationed. Defeat two flashing squad leaders to open one gate, two more to open another, and so on. Defeat all six squad leaders to open the final gate and summon Motonari Mori.

With Motonari's appearance comes many more squad leaders. Their defeat is not necessary, though some do drop tamatebako; one can be found in the bottom-right corner of the map and two can be found in the center. Motonari himself is located on the other side of the map, behind the newly-busted open gates.

Boss: Motonari Mori[edit]

Motonari's battle style is notable for his graceful movements, as he performs combos via fiery dances. His weapon, the war baton, doesn't have much reach, though its flexibility allows him to execute his unique move set. Guard or dodge away from him when you see him begin to dance, and attack him afterward. If attempting the trophy for less than 100 kills, trap him in a corner against the ship, keeping the camera turned away from the squad leaders that would otherwise rush to his aid; this is a viable strategy even if not attempting to obtain the trophy, as Motonari does not handle entrapment well. Defeat him to claim his territory.
