The collection and management of resources is a crucial aspect in Settlement Survival. Resources are gathered from various sources on the map, at first using surface deposits. When these are exhausted, however, players must construct their own structures to provide long-term resource generation.
The various types of resources include:
- Food: Needless to say, starving citizens are dying citizens. Providing citizens with a varied diet improves their happiness considerably.
- Living materials: Equipment that each citizen can wear in order to improve their stats, such as carrying capacity and walking speed. These items lose durability over time and must be replaced.
- Health items: Items that either provide a passive health benefit when used, or are consumed when a citizen falls ill.
- Materials: The widest variety of items, used in the construction, maintenance, and upgrading of structures and other services.
- Trade: Items that are either traded, or can be attained only through trading.
Animals and Seeds[edit]
Pastures and fields require animal cubs or seeds to function. Animal cubs, contrary to their name, operate just like seeds and are not consumed upon designating a pasture to host a certain animal type.
Not all animal types and seeds are available on the same map. Types unavailable on the map itself must be traded for, so keep a stash of gold coins and valuable items at the dock ready for trade!
The following is a list of all the seeds that can be attained in the game. Flax seeds are important early game to provide clothing. Herb seeds require research to attain first, and then can be found by foraging in a forest.
