Stage 2-1[edit]

Shadow of the Ninja scr2.png

You begin in the sewers. Ceilings here are pretty low, making very hard to maneuver by jumping.

The first thing you encounter is container with the sword. Later you will meet water ninjas. You can either fight them, or just run past them. Taking shurikens from the next box will make fight with ninjas easier. There is a total of five water ninjas in the sewers.

When you reach the ledge, move forward to meet the Eyestalker. If there are ninjas on the screen, they all will just disappear. The snake will appear from the right pipe, and after being hit, it will disappear from the left pipe, and so on. The best way to beat it is to hit it continuously. It will make Eyestalker waste time for moving between pipes. Shurikens will help you a lot, especially self-guided. Eyestalker is no boss, but you cannot move forward until you beat it.

After you defeat the sewer snake, prepare to move up, fighting robotic beetles and evading steam from pipes. Good timing is a key to success here. There is a kusarigama in the container under the last steam trap.

After you’ve climbed up, prepare to move right. You will come to a pit very soon where you need to jump down. You will see a beetle down. Come close to the pit and wait for a few seconds. A thrown boomerang will appear. After it flies away, jump down (if you’re too hasty, the boomerang will hit you). The first boomerang master is easy to kill. The second one is harder, since there is a little space for maneuvers. Soon you will come to another pit where you will need to jump down to another beetle. Wait for a few seconds for a boomerang as before, then jump down. It’s better to attack the boomerang master crouching. You’ll see the box with shurikens after him.

The last part of this stage is a few insectoids and a bunch of steam traps. When you see the steam trap, you’ll have to make a choice: up or down. Lower way is safer, but there is a healing potion on the upper way.

You’ll see a bunch of insectoids later, and a container with the sword after them. You’ll encounter a boomerang master, then some insectoids will appear from the left (where you came from). There is no point to fight all these enemies, and they are pretty hard to defeat without losing any stamina, so jump over the boomerang master and go further.

Stage 2-2[edit]

You’re on a factory of some sort now. Cybork right ahead. You can either destroy or evade him, but remember: there’s a runner right after him.

Soon you’ll see a platform with another cybork, and there will be a runner after him too. You can jump on the platform and take bombs, or you can jump down and take kusarigama. If you want to jump down just to evade the cybork, then keep in mind that there will be another cybork below, and the runner will jump down from above. If you want to take both bombs and kusarigama, then take bombs first – you won’t be able to jump on the platform after you fall down.

When the elevator takes you up, prepare for a fight with palookas. First of all, move forward carefully. When you’re about to step from the elevator, palooka will run into you without warning. Quickly move back to the elevator. Crouch and continuously strike in front of you. Palooka can’t step on the elevator, use it for your advantage.

Soon you’ll see another two palookas below. You can either fight them to get two healing potions and katana from the container, or you can simply run past them to the exit.

Stage 2-3[edit]

And another boss fight, Killer-Tank.
