Items in the inventory are accessed from the bottom screen of the Nintendo 3DS. Touch once to select and again to use. For other systems, press the submenu button to access the items. A maximum of 9 of each item can be carried.

| Lobster Tail | A five star feast that restores tons of health! |
| Pirate Flare | When outdoors, fire this flare to return instantly to port. |
| Bubble Shield | A soapy film that repels most projectile attacks. |
| Pike Ball | Protect your bod for a limited time with this orbiting metal ball! |
| Super Pike Ball | Triple bladed balls of death whirl about! Great while it lasts. |
