There are a wide variety of skills in Digital Devil Saga. Each skill belongs to a certain group, and they are each affected by corresponding resistance factor of the target. For instance all skills listed in the Phys group will deliver Phys damage. Likewise, skills in the Panic group are affected by the target's susceptibility to Panic.

Key[edit]

Type
Technique: A skill that consumes a percentage of HP. Able to deliver Critical hits. Power and defense is based on St and Vi respectively.
Magic: A skill that consumes MP. Unable to deliver critical hits. Power and defense is based on Ma.
Shield: A skill that temporarily shields against a specific property. Only the latest shield skill that is used has any effect for its duration.
Enemy: A skill restricted to be used by enemies only.
Name
The skill's name.
Cost
How much HP or MP is consumed to perform the skill.
Ailment
Possible ailment that might afflict the target. If no chance is given, then the effect is guaranteed even at 1% resistance. Ailment chance is affected by the ailment susceptibility of the target regardless of the skill's property.
Target
Indicates what targets can be affected by the skill.
Pwr
Power rating of the skill. ratings go from E (weakest) to A (strong) to SSS (strongest). If no rating is given, then skill does no damage.
Crit
Rating of how often a Critical hit may occur. Ratings go from C (low) to A (high) to S (very high). No rank means the skill cannot deliver a Critical hit.
Hit
Rating of how hard it is to avoid the attack, and take away an extra Press Turn icon. C (easy) to A (hard) to S (impossible).
Learned
Lists what Mantra needs to be mastered to learn the skill.
Combo Skill means the skill is a combo. See Combo Skills for more details.
Enemy indicates what enemies can use this skill for an enemy only skill.
Notes
Special effects pertaining to that skill.

Gun Skills[edit]

The only skill that delivers gun damage in the game. Characters must be in Human form to deliver gun damage.

Hunt Skills[edit]

These skills, while appearing physical in nature, have their own unique Hunt property. The Fatal effect is mitigated by the target's Hunt susceptibility. If an enemy dies from a Hunt skill, then only the user receives the AP.

These skills inflict Ice damage, and have a chance at freezing targets. Frozen targets will always suffer from critical hits, but make it hard to Hunt them.

Death skills are used primarily to instantly kill targets. Very few demons have a weakness to them.
