When you start the game, you will have to go through the introduction for the first time. Later playthroughs allow skipping the introduction, with the intro serving as an easy introduction to gameplay.

In the final part of the introduction, you can enter the docks. Approach the forcefield and wait for Martin to let you past. You can attempt to speak with the dock workers (who will try evading you yet don't reflect that in dialog), but you will need to head to the back of the dock to the right. Listen to Garrison until an ambush is sprung, and head into the water. While you don't have a health meter visible, you will still take damage as enemies attack, thus you will need to move fast.

Swim through the area, and go through the sole tunnel path. You will eventually reach Jessica, who will give you a Magnum, and instruct you on using the health dispenser on the wall. When she leaves, the door leading outside will be blasted open, and two enemies will attack.

If you skipped the intro, you will start here (without the two enemies blowing open the door.

After going outside, there's an enemy taking cover behind two explosive barrels. Climb up on the left to avoid the incoming truck. There is one other enemy behind a corner, and one more that will run out of the building to distract you from said corner.

Enter the warehouse, and watch for the enemy behind the window.

Exit the warehouse on the other side. The first enemy takes cover behind two empty barrels, with additional enemies trying to snipe with pistols from the window.

Enter the last building - the enemy on the right is behind a bit of cover but is easily defeated. On the left, two enemies try taking cover behind explosive barrels, and are therefore dispatched. If you explore to the right, you can find a regenibiotic canister for a nearby health station.

You may continue to the next area, but you probably want to look at the third secret (listed below.)

Sercet list - Trapped
  1. This required playing the introduction until you meet Garrison. When the ambush is triggered and the ground is blown open, jump in the water but swim in the opposite direction to see a floating Dopefish.
  2. When you escape the first ambush and head outside, there's a truck that drives forward and crashes. It crashes against a truck container that opens on the back, and you can collect some ammo (including Magnum Duag rounds.)
  3. After the warehouse containing explosive tanks, you enter a small alley before going into another building. Enter the room containing the enemy trying to snipe you from the window, by building a pile of barrels. It contains a super health, bringing your health to 200.)

Lighthouse[edit]

Upon approach, J.C. will inform you that the uplink is reestablished. The game will also show a tutorial message to shoot the regenibiotic canister to create a cloud (useful if there's no nearby medstations). It's less effective overall but works if you don't have another option.

Head outside, and shoot either the barrel or a support on the scaffolding. This causes a metal beam to smash a door open.

Proceed left, and engage the three enemies ahead. When you reach the catwalk on the left, it will collapse and drop you into the water.

Swim into one of the dock buildings on the right. There's two enemies between the buildings. It will start to pick up once you enter the second building, with a few rappelling from the roof, and plenty more outside to the left.

Jump from the docks, and climb the ladder near the lighthouse. Enter the light house to see two enemies rappelling inside. Climb the stairs and exit on the first door - there's a new jetpack enemy shown by himself.

Approach the warehouse. A vehicle will approach from the left, stop, and let out two guards. To enter the warehouse, approach the right-hand door to open it. Several enemies will attack, from the roof or from the cover of the warehouse. There is also a health station here, in addition to a refill canister.

Exit to the left. There's an outhouse with another health station refill canister.

The next building is the room in the lighthouse section. When you enter, a gate will close behind you. Enemies from the upper floor will attack, before activating a crane that will knock boxes over the place. You can slip past the crane by crouching, or attack the exposed electrical system in the center. To escape the room, either roll a grenade through a gap next to the door of the security station, or destroy the crane to trick a person to open the door.

Sercet list - Lighthouse
  1. When you engage the first three enemies in this section, there will be one more approaching from behind. Wait for him to open the gate, then kill him. Shoot the blue portion of the generator to destroy it, then use the fuse box on the right. After three lights are lit on it, you can open the door to the right. This leads to burning wreckage, a scatter gun, and two blobs that bleed green blood.
  2. When you exit the dock buildings, jump into the water. There's a sunken boat containing two crates.
  3. Swim between the two dock buildings for another Dopefish.

Generators[edit]

The first room past the stairs has one Sintek agent to your right.

You will eventually reach a security station with a partially filled health station. However, the door to the right will burst open, allowing you to proceed.

Exit the building and head right. Climb the fire escape, and engage the four enemies that are in a tight group. Enter the stairwell to the right. If you head down, you can get a regenibiotic canister for the security station, or you can continue to the lab by heading up the stairs. After a path to a secret leading to a scatter gun, a guard sniping from behind a doorway, and an ominous message about the Promixia Project, you can smash the windows to head outside.

After climbing down the fire escape and Jessica telling you the uplink to JC is reestablished again, you will enter the generator building. Sintek guards will only approach once you ascend to the second floor, in a group of 3. The next room hes a health canister (but no nearby station), a pipe expelling hot steam (closed by a valve), and two enemies taking cover at the end of a spiral staircase.

In the turbine room, you first need to cross to the other side by swimming. First, swim under the obstacle between the turbine, then over, then under once again. Climb the ladder out of the water. Enemies will start to engage from the platforms above, with some of them near the explosive barrels. Walk to the end of the lower floor, and use the control panel to extend the bridge. Approach the wheel, and hold the use button to open the door. Walk under the door once you can get through.

There's a health station, just before the map transition.

Sercet list - Generators
  1. In the first stairwell, find a crate in the darkened area below the staircase.
  2. After the first stairwell, there's three windows to the right. Carefully jump out of one to land on the pipe just outside the window. Head left, and walk along the pipe to get a scatter gun.

Trainyard[edit]

Exit the building, and follow the path to the left until you climb the ladder. One enemy guard is ahead, with other guards heading through the gateway on the right, that you will pass through.

Re-enter the building, and pass through the sole route until you reach a ladder. Climb it and head outside. Jessica is ahead of you. Climb into the container held by the crane, and Jessica will send it across. While it is moving, you will be attacked by flying enemies from three directions.

Once you area across, proceed along the traces to the right. You will need to pass through the blue container, before you see the lab entrance building. One guard will attack from behind the gate, while others will approach from the left. Find the gate and stairs leading to the pier. This pier is only a small detour, with stairs eventually leading to the lab's entrance.

Enter - there are enemies scattered on the ground floor, as well as a few taking cover in the container, and a few entering from the roof in the far side of the building. You need to reach the room to the left, where you can find a control panel that allows you to lower the ramp to the secret lab. After filling up to maximum health (there's a secret that also gives an additional 100 health), proceed to the elevator and into the U4 Lab.

Sercet list - Trainyard
  1. After leaving the entrance, head left. The walkway next to the water leads to a single crate.
  2. After being transported across by the container, head left. Open the gate to the chain link fence to find two crates.
  3. While at the railroad, follow it to the end on the right-hand side. Jump across the tracks, and look for an opened container. It contains a crate and a health canister.
  4. When you reach the pier, dive in the water, and swim under the pier. This is another dopefish secret.
  5. Also in the pier, behind the staircase, is a crate.
  6. To the right of the U4 Lab Building entrance is an alley, which you can crawl through under a pipe. At the end is a secret that teleports you to the upper floor of the entrance building. It leads to a super health.
