Smash Court: Pro Tournament is a tennis arcade game, which was released by Namco in 2001; it runs on Namco System 246 hardware, and the players must use an 8-way joystick to take control of up to four of eight real-life tennis players (Pete Sampras, Yevgeny Kafelnikov, André Agassi, Patrick Rafter, Martina Hingis, Lindsay Davenport, Monica Seles, and Anna Kournikova) with two buttons to make them hit the ball over the net with their rackets (by using the joystick in conjunction with either of the buttons, it is also possible to determine the direction that the players hit the ball over the net). Furthermore, to "smash" the ball over the net (which is the move that gives the game its name), the players must first memorise the timing at which they have to hit the ball for a more powerful impact, then push either of the buttons at the right moment to send it soaring back to their opponents' side.
