Sonic the Hedgehog[edit]

Sonic Advance character Sonic.png

Sonic is the world's fastest supersonic hedgehog and the lead character of the game. Unlike Knuckles and Tails, Sonic is mostly ground-bound. For this reason, he's considered the most average and well-rounded character of the game. Ideal as a starter character, but you may want to try out Tails or Knuckles if you're looking for less of a challenge.

Miles "Tails" Prower[edit]

Sonic Advance character Tails.png

Sonic's best friend, Tails is a young fox who enjoys building machines in his free time. His special mutation of two tails allows him to use them as propellers, granting him the ability to fly. With Tails' flight, maneuvering around the zones of Sonic Advance shouldn't be much trouble. If you're looking for more of a challenge, try out Sonic or Amy.

Knuckles the Echidna[edit]

Sonic Advance character Knuckles.png

Knuckles is an ally of Sonic and Tails, and has been since he realized he was tricked by Eggman in Sonic the Hedgehog 3. Guardian of Angel Island's Master Emerald, Knuckles is a natural hothead and will do anything to protect it. His spiked knuckles allow him to deal extra damage to foes and climb on walls, and his echidna locks give him the ability to glide through the air. He along with Tails is one of the easier playable characters in the game.

Amy Rose[edit]

Sonic Advance character Amy.png

Amy is a young hedgehog who has an infatuation with Sonic. Ever since he rescued her from Eggman in Sonic CD, she's taken to following him on his adventures and unsuccessfully proposing marriage. Unlike the other three playable characters, Amy doesn't have the ability to roll into a ball. The spin attack and spin dash are off-limits for her; she instead uses her hammer to attack. Amy is considered the most challenging character to play as in Sonic Advance, so choose to play as her if you want a difficult playthrough.
