The main mode of Sonic Advance is split into seven zones. Each zone consists of two acts and a boss battle at the end. The two acts although separate follow the same theme that each zone has. Zone 7 is also known as The Final Zone and is unique as it is not split into acts and is just three boss battles grouped together. There is no real story between zones and only one cut-scene once the game has been completed.
As you reach a new level, they will become available under Time Attack. Only the first act of New Green Hill is available for all characters, with later act/character combinations being unlocked as you proceed through the game.
