Now you're out of the Secret Base and into Casino Paradise. Despite its name, it doesn't have much to do with slot machines as Sonic the Hedgehog 2's Casino Night did. It resembles Sonic the Hedgehog 3's Carnival Night instead.

Act 1[edit]

Spikes are plentiful in this zone.

You're greeted to the zone by a colorful welcome sign. Race down the hill (if you drop down to the gap below, one of the pinball flippers might be able to help you) and use the spring to reach a pole. Let it catapult you up to the platform above. Avoid the Slot here (the bat badnik) and you'll find a split path. Take the higher route, drop down from the letters, and you'll find a flipper. Wait until you slide to the edge of it, then launch. Move a little further to find a flashing neon arrow leading to a rail. Jump on and once you reach your destination, drop onto the spring to be boosted forward. Now you should see some balloons above you. Jump onto one to reach the other, and land on the platform holding an Item Box. Use the spring to bounce up (use the small pole/flag up above if you need a bigger boost up) to the landing and pass the Point Marker.

Use the area's many machines to get around.

Here you'll find some horizontal poles which give you some boosts forward. Follow the path set by the flags until you see a flipper, and use it to reach the Special Spring. The ring goal will once again be increased by 10. Obtain enough rings to satisfy both objectives and you'll earn yourself the third Chaos Emerald. Back at Casino Paradise, use the flipper you used to get to the Special Spring to launch yourself up to the swinging boat. At the end of its chain you should see an Item Box containing an extra life. Hop into the tube ahead and you'll end up racing down a hill, a flipper launching you up another slope. Get up on the conveyer belts and sit in the cup to be sent to the next Point Marker. Simply follow the path left, then right, and you'll come across the signpost to complete the act.

Act 2[edit]

Keep track of Eggman when he goes in and out of tubes.

Get up the slope and avoid the Slot badnik. Many hazards can be avoided here simply by taking the higher route. Bounce off of the many balloons here and you should come across a platform. Continue up and follow the path to eventually come across the first Point Marker, and then the second. When you reach the machine where the hero swings around while it descends, you'll come across a fork. Choose the right path and you'll come across a rail like the one you used in the first act. Use it again, then drop down and once again follow the path. Eventually, the screen will stop scrolling and Eggman will pop out with a new machine in the usual routine.

All he does is come out of tubes in his spherical vehicle, then goes back into them. He'll come out of ones nearest to you, so be prepared to attack as soon as you see his head rise out of the ground. Land enough hits, free the animals, and move onto the next zone.
