SA Sonic Emerald Coast.png

Relaxing by a pool at Station Square Hotel, Sonic witnesses Tails crashing his plane at a nearby beach, prompting him to investigate.

After going towards the beach where the plane crash is, the stage begins.

Rescue Tails![edit]

So here is the first stage, Emerald Coast, which is really easy and pretty straightforward. Since this is the first stage you can get the hang of the controls and how the homing attack works, especially at the start. The first part will be full of springs and bouncing ropes, really easy stuff to get through. You will soon end up getting chased by a killer whale on bridge, just hold the control stick forward and you'll be fine. The stage will continue with some more running and and platforming until the last segment. There are jump pads with numbers on them, stand on the first one and jump to get to the second one and jump again as soon as you get to it and continue doing this. Finishing the stage is a simple run and you'll find Tails on the floor next to his crashed plane. The first stage, Level C: Rescue Tails!, is now complete and a cutscene will begin.

Level B: Collect 50 Rings and break the capsule[edit]

Level A: Break the Capsule in less than 2:00:00 minutes[edit]

Getting to Mystic Ruins[edit]

Miles "Tails" Prower
This achievement/trophy cannot be missed, just complete Emerald Coast and view the cutscene.

Tails explains he was testing a new propulsion system he built for his prototype plane and that it needs modifications. During one of his test flights, he found a Chaos Emerald and he is going to use its power for the main power source for his plane. Tails tells Sonic to go over to his workshop because he wants to show him something special.

It is possible to obtain the Crystal Ring inside the Station Square Hotel without obtaining the Light Speed-Shoes first. This requires a lot of speed and skill and there isn't a use for it until the Light-Speed Shoes are obtained.

Tails is now playable!
After completing Emerald Coast and viewing the cutscene, Tails will become a playable character.

Head out by going through the hotel lobby and go into the city. Enter the train station, which is building next to the hotel, SS Central Station. Enter the train and you will arrive at the Mystic Ruins.

A cutscene will begin as Sonic and Tails they walk up the stairs to the plateau near Tails' workshop, they meet none other than Dr. Julian Ivo Robotnik. He greets them with a sneer and he wants the Emerald they have for his big plans. Sonic and Tails despise him and they refuse to give it up. He warns he is going to take it the "hard" way and upgrades his regular Mobile to a fighting weapon.

Egg Hornet[edit]

SA Sonic Egg Hornet.png
  • Difficulty: Easy
  • Damage: 3 hits

This guy is nothing to worry about. With your fast speed, you can very easily dodge his slow attacks. He never changes his routine so there are no surprises, he just adds more missiles, which, as mentioned before, are very easy to dodge.

Robotnik starts off by just flying around the ocean edge of the plateau for no reason at all; he then stops to face you. He then starts to shoot a set of missiles (5–7) at you. Dodge them, and he'll fly around again and stop facing you. Now two spikes emerge from the front of the weapon and Robotnik starts to lock on to you for his next attack. Then he charges at you from the air to the ground, which is no big deal at all; it is a very slow attack so just simply step out of they way and he'll end up digging the ground. Now is your chance to attack him with the Homing Attack.

Robotnik flies back up from the ground and does the same routine again, but with two sets of missiles this time. These are no worry, just simply run around. When he gets on the ground again, just hit him. After hitting him again, the same routine happens. He shoots three sets of missiles, which are no worry. Now finish him off.

The Hornet's energy is now drained out and it starts to malfunction and finally explodes and only his regular traveling Mobile remains.
