Control for this game varies according to which of the three types of characters are used. The three divisions are Treasure Hunters, Speed, and Shooting.

Dreamcast[edit]

Speed Character[edit]

  • Neutral analog: character movement
  • A button: Jump.
    • A button: Pressing A again while in the air will cause the character to perform a Homing attack.
    • B button: Hold the B button down while in the air to perform a Bounce Attack. As long as the B button is held, the character will continue bouncing. Note that this attack can only be used after obtaining the upgrade item.
  • B button: Tap the B button once to perform a somersault.
    • B button: Hold the B button down to perform a Spin Dash attack.
  • B button: Navigates menu options that appear at the top of the screen. These are usually commands that are used rarely, but are sometimes need to progress through a level, like Lightspeed Dash, Push/Pull levers, and so on.
  • L button: Adjusts the camera to the left. Isn't always available.
  • R button: Adjusts the camera to the right. Isn't always available.
  • Start button: Pauses the game.

Treasure Hunting Character[edit]

  • Neutral analog: character movement
  • A button: Jump.
    • A button: Pressing A again while in the air will cause the character to glide. While gliding, the character will slowly sink towards the ground. If the character runs into a wall while gliding, they will (usually) latch on and begin climbing.
    • B button: While Gliding, the B button will cause the character to perform a fast dive. If the character hits a soil or grass ground, then they will begin digging. Note that digging is only available after obtaining the proper upgrade item.
  • B button: Tap the B button once to perform a Punch or Kick, depending on the character. Repeatedly tapping the B button will result in a chain of attacks, forming a combo.
    • B button: While climbing a wall, the B button will cause the character to dig into the wall. Note that digging is only available after obtaining the proper upgrade item.
  • B button: Navigates menu options that appear at the top of the screen. These are usually commands that are used rarely, but are sometimes need to progress through a level, like Sunglasses/Treasure Scope, Push/Pull levers, and so on.
  • L button: Adjusts the camera to the left. Isn't always available.
  • R button: Adjusts the camera to the right. Isn't always available.
  • Start button: Pauses the game.

Shooting Character[edit]

  • Neutral analog: character movement
  • A button: Jump.
    • A button: Pressing A again while in the air will cause the character to Hover. While Hovering, the character will slowly sink towards the ground (though much faster than a treasure hunting character will while gliding.) Note that Hovering is only available after obtaining the proper upgrade item.
  • B button: Tap the B button once to fire the Volkan Cannon, a small, weak projectile. If the character is too close to an enemy to fire, they will instead use a "punch" attack to push the enemy away while inflicting minor damage.
    • B button: Hold the B button to initiate the target Lock-on system. The more enemies that are targeted at once, the higher the bonus will be. The color of the laser that is emitted from the front of the character's Mech indicates how much longer it will last.
