Splatoon/Gear

There are three types of gear in Splatoon: Headgear, Clothing and Shoes. They all have one main ability and up to three sub abilities that can be unlocked through play. All gear has a brand associated with them, which affects the chances of rolling a specific sub ability. Whether you're dressing for style or for utility, there are plenty of brand and main ability combinations to form your perfect outfit.

amiibo

As its name implies, the amiibo brand is for gear obtained from clearing amiibo challenges, and cannot be bought from shops or ordered from Spyke. The amiibo brand does not alter the chances for earning sub abilities.

Most of the gear with the Cuttlegear brand is earned from Octo Valley and all of them must be given to you rather than bought. Spyke cannot order Cuttlegear branded equipment from other players for you. Cuttlegear-branded gear have equal chances of rolling any sub ability.
