Medical Bay[edit | edit source]

Journal Entry Added Recent History: Bonus Mission
You have awakened in a medical bay in an unknown facility. The last thing you remember is being a passenger on the Republic capital ship, the Harbinger. You should find out where you are - and how you got here.

Your main character is now standing alone in the middle of the medical bay at the top left end of the Peragus mining station's administation level. As you approach the door in front of you, in the bottom left wall:

Immersion in kolto tanks can heal most wounds. If you have lost Vitality Points during your explorations, return here to the medical bay and use the empty kolto tank behind you to heal your wounds.

Your kolto tank is by the top right wall, flanked by two more to either side containing miners.

Name's Kolto Tank: [This is the kolto tank you emerged from. Do you wish to heal yourself?]
1. Enter the tank. 2. Leave the tank alone.
Name's Kolto Tank: Your wounds have been healed.

Entering the tank restores you to maximum Vitality.

Medical Lab & Lab Station[edit | edit source]

Beyond the door in the medical bay's bottom left wall is a short hallway with closed doors in its three other sides. The Morgue door to your right and the damaged door at the bottom end of the corridor cannot be opened at this point, so you have to go through the door to your left, into the medical lab. There's a medical bay container in the bottom right corner, opposite the doorway:

Item(s) Received Medical Bay Container

There's a medical computer by the top left wall:

Medical Bay Murders[edit | edit source]

If you use the medical lab's computer to access patient treatment and have Treat Injury rank > 0, then you can activate this bonus mission:

Medical Computer: Treatment: All subjects being treated for severe plasma burns. Last treatment request resulted in death for all subjects except Patient #3, who was reduced to minimal life signs.
Treat Injury 1. [Treat Injury (1)] Check the last treatment request.
Medical Computer: [Treat Injury] A lethal dose of sedatives was administered to all the tanks, including #3. There is no record of who ordered the treatment.
Journal Entry Added Medical Bay Murders: Bonus Mission
You found records showing that a lethal sedative treatment was given to the miners in the Peragus medical bay. You received the same lethal dose, but survived. You should try to find out who administered the treatment... and why they tried to kill you.
Experience Points (XP) Received:
  • 50 Found records showing lethal sedative treatment given to miners in Peragus medical bay

You can track the treatment request once you have at least one Computer Spike:

1. [Computer] Attempt to track the treatment request. [1 Spike(s)] 1. [Computer] Track the treatment request again. [0 Spike(s)]
Medical Computer: [Computer] Not enough spikes to perform the slice. Medical Computer: [Computer] The treatment was administered by remote from another console within the facility: 34-103. You cannot determine its location, but you would recognize the ID signature if you accessed the console.
Journal Entry Added Medical Bay Murders: Bonus Mission
With Computer Use, you discovered the ID signature of the terminal that transmitted the lethal medication order. If you can find that terminal in the facility, you may be able to find out who issued the order.
Experience Points (XP) Received:
  • 100 Discovered ID signature of terminal that transmitted lethal medication order
Experience Points (XP) Received:
  • 50 Computer Use

Morgue[edit | edit source]

The morgue is on the left side of the hallway at the bottom end of the medical bay, and it can only be opened by using the medical lab's computer to access medical bay functions:

There's an uncovered corpse on the bed in the bottom right corner by the doorway:

[This old woman looks dead, but there's no sign of what killed her.]

There's a covered corpse on the bed by the back wall, opposite the doorway:

Item(s) Received Corpse

After checking this corpse, the old woman gets up:

Kreia: Find what you are looking for amongst the dead?
Dialog
1. I thought you were dead. 2. Slept too long? You looked dead when I came in.
Kreia: Close to death, yes, closer than I'd like. You have the smell of the kolto tank about you... how do you feel?
2. Your voice - I heard it as I floated in the kolto tank. 1. A little disoriented... was it your voice I heard in the kolto tank?
Kreia: Yes, I had hoped as much - I slept here too long, and could not awaken. It may be I reached out unconsciously, and your mind must have been a willing one. Or perhaps you have been trained for such things?
3. Who are you?
2. The kolto tank left me a little drained... who are you? 1. Just stay out of my mind in the future. Now what do you want?
3. Enough with the false concern - what do you want? 3. So you can touch minds... and feign death. Who are you?
Kreia: I am Kreia, and I am your rescuer - as you are mine. Tell me - do you recall what happened?
1. Last thing I remember, I was on board a Republic ship, the Harbinger... what happened to it?
Kreia: Your ship was attacked. You were the only survivor... a result of your Jedi training, no doubt.
Journal Entry Added Recent History: Bonus Mission
You met an elderly woman named Kreia, who informed you that she rescued you from the Harbinger. She said you were the only survivor of the vessel, and that it had been attacked. You have no idea how you got off the Harbinger, however... nor how you got here.

Otherwise:

Dialog
2. I'm the one asking the questions. How did I get here?
Kreia: I confess I know little more than you do... I do not know where here is. I do recall rescuing you... the Republic ship you were on was attacked, and you were the only survivor. A result of your Jedi training, no doubt.
1. If you think I'm a Jedi, you're mistaken. 2. I am no longer a member of the Jedi Order. 3. How do you know I was a Jedi?
Kreia: Your stance, your walk tells me you are a Jedi. Your walk is heavy, you carry something that weighs you down.
1. The Jedi Order and I have a... troubled history. 2. That is no business of yours.
Kreia: So it would seem. Keep your past - and let us focus on the now.
3. Let's deal with the now. What is this place? 1. What is this place? 2. All right - what's going on? How did we get here? 3. Very well. How do we get out of here?
Kreia: I do not know. I was removed from the events of the world as I slept. A survey of the surroundings may provide the answers we seek. The ship we arrived in must still be in this place. We should recover it and leave.
1. Why do we need to leave? 2. Care to explain why you're in such a hurry? 3. "We?" Why do you think we are together in this?
Kreia: We were attacked once, and I fear our attackers will not give up the hunt so easily - without transport, weapons, and information, they will find us easy prey indeed.
Awareness 1. [Awareness (4)] You seem nervous, worried. Is something wrong?
Dialog
Kreia: Even as I slept, I felt much unrest here - I saw strange visions, minds colored with fear - now, everything here feels terribly silent. I would find out as much as you can about this place quickly - I fear we will need to depart as suddenly as we arrived.
2. We'll see. There's got to be someone left alive around here. 3. I'll go look for our ship - and some weapons. 4. Is there anything else I should keep an eye out for?
Kreia: You may wish to extend your search to some clothes... if only for proper first impressions.
3. Are you well enough to travel?
Kreia: I am not offering to help you - I am not so young as to leap from death's door as quickly as you.

If you also used the medical lab's computer to access patient treatment, then checked the last treatment request to discover the Medical Bay Murders:

Persuade 1. [Persuade (1)] The patients in med bay were killed by a lethal dose of sedatives. Any idea how it happened? Persuade 2. [Persuade/Intimidate (1)] The miners in the med bay were murdered. Know why?

If you fail then you can still succeed with sufficient Intelligence or Wisdom:

Kreia: [Failure] I do not know anything about that.
Intelligence 1. [Intelligence (11)] The dose almost killed me - whoever did it might try to kill you. Are you sure you don't know anything? Wisdom 1. [Wisdom (11)] The dose almost killed me - whoever did it might try to kill you. Are you sure you don't know anything?
Kreia: [Success] I do not know - why did they spare you?
Dialog
3. Maybe I'll ask the killer when I find him - or her.
Kreia: Very well... if they do not find us first. Be watchful.

Otherwise:

1. They didn't. I got the same dose, but survived. 1. I wasn't. I got the same dose, but I survived for some reason.
2. I am trained to resist poisons of the body.
Kreia: Indeed, a Jedi trance could protect one from such poisons... in fact, the sedatives may have been intended to keep you unconscious for some time. It would prove lethal to those untrained in such techniques, however. Most curious.

If you're returning:

3. I'll see what I can find, and come back to check on you later. 4. Fine, then - just stay here and stay out of my way.

Otherwise:

1. You seem to know a lot about Jedi techniques.
Kreia: And so do you. Perhaps we could discuss it at length later on - now we have other concerns - among them, finding our new enemy.
1. Maybe when I return you'll actually answer my question. 3. And maybe when I return you'll actually answer my question.
Kreia: I have found that answers come in their own time, not ours. Turn your energy to the matter at hand - if we cannot find a way out of here, the answers will prove useless anyway.

If you're returning:

2. Very well. I'll take a look around.
4. I'll return soon to make sure you're all right. 5. Just stay out of my way, or you'll end up like these corpses.
Light Side Points Gained: +1 Dark Side Points Gained: -1
Kreia: I leave you to the explorations of this place... here I will remain and attempt to center myself.
Journal Entry Added Recover Ebon Hawk
You need to find the ship you and Kreia arrived on, the Ebon Hawk, and escape the mining facility as soon as possible.

You have taken your first steps on the path to the light side. Heroic acts and charitable responses to others will elevate you further, bringing you more in touch with the light side of the Force and its higher mysteries. Cruel or selfish actions will reverse this, causing you to fall to the dark side.

You have taken your first steps down the path to the dark side. Self-serving acts and cruel responses to others will drive you further to the dark side of the Force, corrupting you and your appearance as you grow in power. Charitable and heroic actions will reverse this, bringing you closer to the light side.

Kreia sits and meditates at the foot of her bed. If you speak to her again:

Kreia: Yes? What have you found?

If you're returning after she's spoken to you telepathically elsewhere:

1. I keep hearing your voice as I explore this place.
Dialog
Kreia: Ah yes. I noticed that as well. It may be that our proximity during our long slumber may have had... unforeseen consequences.
1. Unforeseen consequences?
Kreia: We seem to be able to speak without speaking. Perhaps this effect will pass with time.
1. What if it doesn't pass?
Kreia: Then hope that we have little to say to each other, lest it prove distracting.
2. I don't care... just stay out of my head, got it?
Kreia: I have little choice - and neither do you. It is an advantage to us both, and I suggest we make use of it.
4. Just stay here and be quiet. 5. All right, then - I'll be back.

Otherwise:

4. Just checking to make sure you're all right. 5. Nothing yet. I'll return later.
Dialog
Kreia: I am recovering - your concern is noted, but not necessary. Keep your mind on the present - I sense trouble here.
6. All right then. I'll keep exploring.

Otherwise:

4. As "helpful" as your cryptic warnings are, why don't you find some way to make yourself useful? 5. Enough with the lectures - I'm not some Padawan, all right?
Kreia: When I have recovered, I will do what I can to help you - you needed rescuing once, and I am prepared to rescue you again, if the need arises. Kreia: Not anymore, no. But again, that is a discussion for another time.
4. We'll see who needs rescuing - just stay out of my way. 5. We'll see. Just stay out of my way.

Turbolift to Peragus Dormitories[edit | edit source]

As you approach the damaged door at the bottom end of the hallway exiting the medical bay:

Any door that can be BASHED open can be cut through more easily with a lightsaber or construction tool (such as a plasma torch). To bash open this door, equip a plasma torch on the EQUIP screen, then select "Bash" on the first box in the action menu when the door is selected.

When you select it, or try to unlock it with Security:

Equip a plasma torch as a weapon, then select "Bash" in the first box on the action menu. You will "attack" the door with the torch, cutting it open. Press up or down on the D-pad to select Bash and then press A button.

If you try to bash it open unarmed, rather then using the Plasma Torch from the corpse at the back of the morgue:

This door is too damaged to be bashed open with anything short of a plasma torch.
Experience Points (XP) Received:

The area beyond has a corpse on its floor just ahead to your right, and a broken droid by its bottom left wall, also on your right as you enter:

Item(s) Received Corpse Item(s) Received Broken Droid

The vibroblade is a better weapon than the plasma torch, and you'll be needing it in the next room. There's also an emergency blast door in the top left wall, to your right as you enter:

This door is magnetically sealed and cannot be opened with a plasma torch. It looks like it will need to be opened manually from the other side.

The turbolift to the dormitories is inaccessible behind it, so go through the door in the middle of the right wall, to your left as you entered.

Melee on ranged +6 is added to your attack rolls with the Vibroblade, so even if you started with 8 Strength (-1) and 18 Dexterity (+4) its standard Attack at level 1 still has higher chance to hit (+1, 95% vs 90%), weapon damage (1-9 vs 1-8), and Critical Threat (19-20,x2 vs 20-20,x2) and conversion (95% vs 90%) than the mining laser.

Beyond the door in the back wall is the third area, containing two more damaged mining droids:

Beyond the door in the wall behind them, the fourth area is empty except for a broken droid in its bottom right corner:

The turbolift to the mining tunnels is inaccessible behind the emergency hatch, so go through the door in the middle of the right wall, into the security room.

Security Room[edit | edit source]

Beyond the final door in the right wall is a security room, with a securty desk by the bottom wall to your right as you enter, and a corpse on the floor by a security locker in the back right corner: bashing open this security locker rather than unlocking it using Security results in an unknown item being replaced with a broken item.

Peragus Security Officer: "The next one of you juma-heads to try and smuggle a blaster, or so help me, any sort of military grade frag weapons into my facility is going to take a long walk out the airlock."
Peragus Security Officer: "Why? Because in case you forgot, Peragian fuel explodes at high temperatures - that's what blasted that chunk out of Peragus II and created this asteroid field."
Peragus Security Officer: "So if I catch any of you with anything other than sonic charges or mining lasers, I'll burn you and your contract. Security out."

Peragus Security Officer: [Static.] "...and according to one of the miners, it was because one of the sonic charges went off prematurely. And like before, it was one set by a mining droid."
Peragus Security Officer: "The three idiots were grouped so close to the charge it might as well have been a grenade going off - the blast turned their bones to dust."
Peragus Security Officer: "The blast wrecked the internal components of the droid that set the charge, though, so we can't even dissect it to see what happened."
Peragus Security Officer: "I don't like what's going on here. Ever since that Jedi showed up, things are getting worse... it's not just Coorta and his miners, or the fights, but now the droids are acting crazy."
Peragus Security Officer: ' Ah, if we don't find what's causing this - or who - this facility's going to be space dust by the time the next Telos freighter arrives.'

Peragus Security Officer: [Static.] "...so you're in maintenance? Then maybe you can tell me what's going on with these droids."
Peragus Maintenance Officer: TERMINAL: "Sir, I don't know. It's like their behavior cores are undergoing binary decay, but I can't find the source... this shouldn't be happening."
Peragus Security Officer: "Well, that's reassuring. It isn't happening. So the next time we nearly have a breach in the ventilation tunnels, I can just close my eyes and pretend it's my imagination."
Peragus Security Officer: "You better give me some answers - I want to know the damage these droids can do if they start mining us instead of asteroid rock."
Peragus Maintenance Officer: TERMINAL: 'Sir, these droids aren't combat models... their mining lasers are weaker and less accurate than blasters. I doubt those droids could even hit one of us.'
Peragus Security Officer: "Are you blind?! What about the miners in med bay? It's sabotage - and it started right after the commander said we weren't going to sell the Jedi to the Exchange."
Peragus Security Officer: "So I want you to find out how these droids are being sabotaged. That'll tell me who's trying to clear a path to get that Jedi off the facility - and stop him."
Peragus Security Officer: In the meantime, make sure the security's armed with all the ion and sonic charges you can find. If those droids start coming after me, I'm gonna need more than low-grade mining lasers to take 'em down. Clear?'
Peragus Maintenance Officer: TERMINAL: "Yes, sir. Maintenance control out."
Peragus Security Officer: "Idiot."

Peragus Security Officer: [Static.] "...I installed an override switch to shut down any droids on this level, just in case someone locks me out of the administration console."
Peragus Security Officer: "As added insurance, I tied the override switch into the circuits of the holding cell door. That'll make sure it can only be opened if all droids in the level are shut down."
Peragus Security Officer: "I doubt Coorta or any of his men have the skill to pull off something like this, but I'm not taking any chances while we're sitting in the middle of this asteroid minefield."
Peragus Security Officer: "Whoever's responsible won't be able to have the droids rescue him after I lock him up. Nothing'll cut through that door - he'll be trapped."

Peragus Security Officer: [Static.] "...I secured the stealth field generator inside one of the footlockers in the security storage room. If I have the specs right, the interface field should be effective against the droid sensors."
Peragus Security Officer: "All I need to do is equip the belt - and some skill with stealth in order to use it. As long as I don't get too close to the droids, they shouldn't detect me."
Peragus Security Officer: "If any more droids start 'malfunctioning,' the belt should buy me enough time to get to the override switch I set up in the communications blister console."

Precognition of the three mining droids in the security storage room.

Her warning may be redundant if you've accessed the security desk's remote camera controls and already seen the three damaged mining droids in the security storage room next door; it may also be unnecessary, since once you open the next door, using an ion grenade can kill all three in a single combat round.

Experience Points (XP) Received:
  • 100 Killed Damaged Mining Droid (3) (level 1)

However, if you save the grenade then it shouldn't be much more difficult using the vibroblade. Avoid healing if you can, as you should gain enough experience to level up to level 2 during or shortly after combat, which restores you to maximum Vitality:

Kreia: :: Ah... you hear it. It is faint... but it is there. ::
Dialog
1. What is happening? 2. I feel strange... like the sedatives are wearing off. 3. Is there something wrong with me?
Kreia: :: It is the Force you feel... it has not been so long as for you to forget... ::
1. But it doesn't feel like it did... it feels like it is coming from across a great distance. 2. It's like a sound, but... 3. It has been almost a decade - I had forgotten. 4. I don't want this. Not again, never again.
Kreia: :: Do not turn away from it. Listen... feel it echoing within you. ::
Kreia: :: Come, I shall guide you down the familiar paths - you will need it if we are to survive and escape this place. ::
1. [Gaining experience will slowly reestablish your connection to the Force. Go to the level up screen to choose your Force abilities.]

Leveling up to level 2 grants you the Force Sensitive feat (40 Force points) and allows you to select your first Force power: there are already 17 to choose from at this point. However, since droids are the only enemies you'll encounter in the mining station itself, you can rule out any powers that don't affect them (and you don't have a lightsaber to throw) for immediate use:

  • Throw Lightsaber
  • Drain Force
  • Force Scream
  • Mind Trick

At this level you can also rule out the three offensive powers (Stun Droid, Shock and Force Push), since all only affect a single target and you only have enough Force points to use them 2-3 times before waiting to regenerate sufficient Force to use them again (entering your kolto tank has no effect). Stun Droid and Force Push only inflict damage equal to your level (2), which is halved by a successful save (1). However, Stun Droid can also be used to trigger Minor mines, which you'll encounter beyond the administration level.

The five remaining powers are buffs, and Force Body can be ruled out since neither Vitality nor Force are high enough yet to make it useful, while Force Armor only grants 1 more Defense (2) than Force Valor (Dexterity: +2 adds 1), and 1 less Saves (Valor's attribute bonuses add 1 more to all, for +3 in total). That leaves three: Burst of Speed (movement speed and +2 Defense for 36 seconds), Force Valor (+2 attributes and saves for 20 seconds) or Energy Resistance (Damage Resistance: Resist 6/- vs energy, sonic, fire, cold and electrical damage for 120 seconds).

There are two footlockers in the top left corner of the security storage room:

Communications Blister[edit | edit source]

The communications blister is at the bottom end of the adminstration level's main body, where there are three computers under a giant screen by the back wall. There's a damaged mining droid to your right as you enter, guarding the top of a ramp down to a walkway around the bottom perimeter of the communications blister, where there's another one guarding the bottom of the ramp to your left as you enter. There are also emergency supplies in a plasteel cylinder in the bottom corners at the ends of this walkway, at the bottom of each ramp.

Experience Points (XP) Received:

Only the administration computer in the middle can be used, activating a switch that deactivates any remaining droids and the Prison door's force field:

Administration Computer: [Awareness] [Oddly enough, you notice that despite the emergency lockdown, there is one switch that still remains active outside of the encryption.] 1. Look for the control override switch.
Administration Computer: [You have found the security officer's override switch. Do you wish to activate it?]

You receive twice as much experience for killing a droid rather than deactivating it, but the latter allows you to scavenge it for components:

Damaged Mining Droid: This droid still has power, but it is no longer receiving a signal from the droid central controller.

In hindsight, if you activate the switch after running past every mining droid on the way, then you could scavenge all 15 for maximum 75 components in total.

You can also switch the droid's mining protocol to defend organics:

Computer Use 2. [Computer (3)] Examine the unit's behavior core.
Dialog
Damaged Mining Droid: [Success] It looks as if some recent modifications have been made to this unit's vocabulator. These droids will no longer accept commands from any member of the mining facility except one - the ID designation matches the maintenance officer for this facility. Damaged Mining Droid: [Failure] A diagnostic of the droid's behavior core reveals nothing.
1. [Computer] Check last received commands.
Damaged Mining Droid: It looks as if their mining protocols have been set to mine any organics and any non-authorized droids in the facility. If this is the case, then the mining droids have likely wiped out everyone and everything in the facility.
1. [Computer] Switch mining protocol to defend organics.
Damaged Mining Droid: [Success] This droid has now been switched to defend any organic in the facility. If someone chooses to attack you, this droid will attempt to protect you.
6. Leave the droid alone.
Experience Points (XP) Received:

Damaged Mining Droid: This droid has now been switched to defend any organic in the facility. If someone chooses to attack you, this droid will attempt to protect you.

However, you only receive experience for the first droid. Neither of these options is available once you choose any of the following:

3. Disable droid to allow you to move by it. Demolitions 4. [Demolitions (1)] Detonate droid with a non-lethal charge. Demolitions 5. [Demolitions (4)] Set droid to explode in three seconds, injuring everyone within a four meter radius.

Setting a droid to explode inflicts 20 piercing damage within radius unless a Reflex save is made at DC 15, halving damage.

So to maximize experience received, kill all but one droid before activating the administration computer's switch, then switch that droid's mining protocol to defend organics (in hindsight, the one guarding the emergency blast door for the turbolift to the fuel depot...).

Turbolift to Peragus Fuel Depot[edit | edit source]

Prison[edit | edit source]

At the top end of the administration level's main body, there's a door in the left wall guarded by a damaged mining droid below it, and another droid above it by the right wall opposite.

As you approach this door:

Kreia: :: ...ah... beyond this door someone yet lives... be mindful... his thoughts are... difficult to read... ::
Kreia: :: ...but you have nothing to fear from this one... and he might yet prove useful... ::
Precognition of a man in one of the prison's two force cages.
[Although not an emergency blast door, this door has been magnetically sealed. There may be an override console somewhere in the area.]

Any force field is deactivated once you've killed all 15 damaged mining droids in the administration level, or activated the administration computer's switch in the Communications Blister below (which also deactivates all remaining droids).

After opening the door, you approach the man in the force cage by the prison's bottom wall, on your left as you enter (the prison is otherwise empty):

Atton: Nice outfit - what, you miners change regulation uniforms while I've been in here? Atton: Nice outfit - what, you miners change regulation uniform while I've been in here?
Dialog
4. Care to explain why you're locked up?
Atton: Security claimed I violated some trumped-up regulation or another - take it up with them if you want, but they stopped listening to me shortly before they stopped feeding me. Now that's criminal.
1. Who are you? 2. You got a name? Or just a big mouth? 1. Maybe I could help if you told me who you are.
2. I'd keep those eyes up, and tell me who you are. 2. So you're not a miner. Who are you, then?
Atton: Atton... Atton Rand. Excuse me if I don't shake hands. The field only causes mild electrical burns.
5. What is this place?
Atton: You mean you didn't come here on purpose? I'm shocked, I really am. This slice of paradise is the Peragus mining facility, the only supplier of shipping-grade engine fuel to this corner of the galaxy. Peragus fuel plays havoc with engines, but it gets the job done... as long as you don't mind the toxic byproducts and trying to mine it without blowing yourself up.
1. Blowing yourself up? 2. This facility doesn't sound too safe.
Atton: Yeah - this asteroid belt is one giant minefield. One proton torpedo, even a stray blaster shot, can start an explosion that'll make the one that shattered Peragus II look like a kid's pop detonator.
1. Peragus II? 2. How big of an explosion are we talking about?
Atton: You know the planet with the exposed core you saw flying in? That hole was caused by the first mining station that tried to siphon fuel off the planet. Blew a whole chunk out of the planet, and set it drifting out here in a big clump of fuel-cooled asteroids. So the miners drill the asteroids now, not the planet's surface. That's why they don't allow blasters here. Can't trust a miner jumped up on juma juice not to fire one stray shot that will turn the entire colony into a thermal detonator.
2. Is that why you were locked up?
Atton: Do I look like some miner? Look - when I start shooting, I'm real careful who and what I shoot. Even when I'm drinking.
5. This facility's deserted. What happened? 6. I don't have time for this. Tell me what happened here. Now.
Dialog
Atton: You mean, before or after that Jedi showed up? Either way, it's a real short story. You see, this Jedi shows up, and you know what that means - where there's one Jedi, the Republic will soon be crawling up your ion engine in no time. But the story gets better. See, some of the miners get it into their ferrocrete skulls that since the Jedi's unconscious, they can collect the bounty the Exchange has posted for live Jedi. Well, what passes for the law here didn't like that idea, so the two groups started fighting.
Atton: Then there was some big explosion, I was sitting here for a long time, then you showed up in your underwear and things got a lot better. Atton: Then there was some big explosion, and then I was sitting here for a long time, waiting for some half-naked miner to show up and ask a bunch of questions.
2. The Exchange? 2. What's the Exchange?
Atton: The Exchange is a big crime outfit, mostly operate out of Nar Shaddaa: spice running, gun trafficking, slave trading. Now I guess they're posting bounties on Jedi.
1. There's a bounty on captured Jedi? Why?
1. Why would they offer a bounty on Jedi? 2. The Exchange is trying to kill Jedi? 3. Were the Jedi interfering with the Exchange's operations?
Atton: Don't know much about it. Maybe the Exchange wants one as a trophy, or somebody's got something against Jedi and is looking to collect. Not many Jedi left... wouldn't surprise me if the bounty's pretty high. Atton: Like I said, I don't know too much about it. Could be something personal... or just business. Either way, there aren't many Jedi left to do anything about it.
1. Not many Jedi left? What happened to them? 3. Did the Exchange wipe them all out?
Atton: I doubt it. No, it was war that thinned the Jedi, not the Exchange.
Atton: The ones that weren't killed in the Jedi Civil War ended up switching off the lightsabers long ago. Word is, there's not even a Jedi Council anymore, but who knows?
1. I had heard rumors of a war - but a war between Jedi? 2. The stories I heard were of the Sith, not the Jedi. 3. Was it caused by the Mandalorian Wars?
Atton: Yeah, Revan, Malak, and the Jedi that went to join them in the Mandalorian Wars. They turned against the other Jedi and had a scrap that almost laid waste to the galaxy. Heh. Where have you been?

You can now choose the alignment and sex of Revan from Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic:

1. I've heard a few rumors, but little else in my travels. 2. I've been... away since the Mandalorian Wars. 3. Just tell me what happened next. 4. What happened between Revan and Malak?
Dialog
Atton: Well, I wasn't there, but like all Sith, Revan and Malak turned on each other. After they turned on the Jedi, of course.
Dark 1. The rumors I heard said Revan defeated Malak, then went to Korriban to unite the Sith against the Republic. Light 2. I was led to believe that Revan saved the Jedi - and the Republic.
Atton: That was the story - but whatever happened there must not have lasted. There was some big civil war on Korriban, knocked that academy to the ground. Looks like Revan's grand crusade finally consumed her. Atton: I guess... there's rumors all over space about it. All I heard was Revan returned to pay Malak back for trying to kill her in the first place. You know women.
1. How long have you been in that cage? Revan was a man, not a woman.
Atton: Maybe you're right. Maybe I just hoped Revan was a woman.

Otherwise, you agree that Revan was a woman:

Dark 2. I am not surprised... Revan lived for battle. She could not easily turn away from war - or death. Light 2. I had heard Revan's redemption involved her stopping Malak, and she had no choice but to fight him.
Atton: Yeah, well when she became a Sith Lord, she sure didn't stop. She killed her way across half the galaxy. Atton: Well, I wasn't there, thankfully. But I heard what she was like during the Mandalorian Wars, and it sounded like she was quick to wipe out anyone who crossed her.
Atton: Dark Jedi are bad enough, but when a woman falls to the dark side, you better space yourself before they catch you. Atton: The males are bad enough, but when a woman falls to the dark side, you better space yourself before they catch you.

If you don't care, then Revan defaults to light side male:

5. I couldn't care less about Revan's fate. I had other questions for you. 6. I've heard enough. Let me ask you something else.
1. I had some more questions for you. Dark Atton: Uh, no offense or anything.
3. Enough history, let me ask you something else. 1. None taken - I had some more questions for you.
2. This discussion about Revan is pointless. I need to know what happened here.
Dialog
Atton: Look, not like your half-naked interrogation isn't a personal fantasy of mine, but... Atton: Look, no offense or anything, but your weird half-naked interrogation isn't my id...
Atton: Hey, wait a minute - you're that Jedi the miners were talking about. Where is everybody?
1. I don't know - this facility seems abandoned. 2. Don't you know what happened to them? 3. Stop playing dumb - you must have seen what took place.
Atton: The miners can't all be gone. But if they are... Atton: From my beautiful view in this security cage? Look, I heard some explosions, some emergency alarms, some toxic gas pouring out of the vents... Maybe none of them survived whatever happened. And if they're all gone...
Atton: Look - hey, let me out, and I can help you. I can. I've gotten out of trouble countless times.
4. Seems to me you were locked up for a reason.
Atton: It was a misunderstanding, trumped-up charges. I could clear it up if I could just speak to somebody in charge, but seems to be no chance of that happening... unless you let me out.
2. How can you help? 3. I don't think so. 5. How could you possibly be of any use to me?
Atton: Just in case you don't understand the trouble we're in, let me lay it out for you. This facility is a series of mining tunnels dropping kilometers into the asteroid's core. Every worker and droid here has been cleared, then triple-cleared, for hazardous operations. This facility has an operational threat level so high they don't let un-cleared starships in system out of fear that an accidental engine discharge will create a very brief, very hot new sun in this sector. You know why? Because every asteroid in this orbiting minefield has deposits of Peragian fuel within it - that means when one decides to pop, its brothers and sisters are going to come along for the ride. One explosion - you might survive. But a hundred? A thousand? You'll be riding out of here on a comet trail, Jedi. So if something's gone wrong here, you can cling to the Force all you want, but nothing'll stop this place from going critical.
Persuade 1. [Persuade (1)] Tell me your plan, and we can go from there. Awareness 1. [Awareness (7)] I suspect I can trust you... enough to escape here. What is your plan? 1. Do you have some plan for getting out of here? 2. Somewhere in your idiotic rant, you failed to explain how you can be of any use to me.
Dialog
Atton: [Success] This facility isn't a military installation, which means we may have a chance. Atton: This facility isn't a military installation, which means we may have a chance.
Atton: You shut down this cell's security field, and I can reroute the emergency systems so we can get to the hangars. We grab a ship and then we fly out of here.

If you've discovered the Medical Bay Murders, then this is your first chance to ask if he knows anything:

Persuade 1. [Persuade (5)] One thing first... the patients in the medical bay were killed with a lethal dose of sedatives. Know anything about that? Persuade 2. [Persuade/Intimidate (5)] The miners in the med bay were murdered. Know why?
Dialog
Atton: [Success] Huh? What are you talking about?
1. Wanted to know if you knew anything - and you don't. 2. Never mind. Just checking.
3. Nothing. I trust you - let me let you out of that cage and we can work together to get out of this mess.

Otherwise:

Atton: [Failure] No - should I? Maybe you should ask one of those miners who was thinking about selling you to the Exchange... maybe they wanted to drug you up for transport, ever think about that?
Persuade 1. [Persuade (4)] Calm down - I was just asking, not accusing you.
Atton: [Success] So you done interrogating me, or are we going to work together and try and get out of this mess?

Otherwise:

Atton: [Failure] You better watch yourself - I don't like being accused of something I didn't do. When I kill someone, trust me, you'll know. Got it?

Otherwise:

2. Maybe. And maybe I'll ask the killer when I find him - or her. 3. Yeah, and maybe you were locked up because you did it. What do you think of that? 4. Never mind. Sorry I brought it up.
Atton: You better watch yourself - I don't like being accused of something I didn't do. When I kill someone, trust me, you'll know. Got it?
Atton: So you done interrogating me, or are we going to work together and try and get out of this mess?
Dialog
3. Why don't you tell me what to do, and then we'll see. 4. I might be able to fly a ship out of here without you.
Atton: No deal. If I'm not leaving, you're not leaving.
1. No, I don't think so.
Atton: Well, go ahead and burn your thrusters. If there's been a lockdown, you're trapped pretty nicely on this level. You're going nowhere. Oh... except I have clothes, and this security field is protecting me pretty well from any more outbreaks of poison gas.
5. I trust you. And if we work together, we may be able to get out of this mess. 6. I'll switch off the cage, but if you try and run, I'll cut you down without a second thought. 7. All right, I'll let you out.
Light Side Points Gained: +1 Dark Side Points Gained: -1

After letting Atton out, you both run to the administration computer:

Atton: Great - now to business. Let's get to the command console.
1. All right, let's go. 2. Just stay ahead of me and don't make any sudden moves.
Dialog
Atton: All right, here we are. Now this console is set on automatic hail, you may have heard it when you came in. The asteroid drift charts are constantly being updated, so it sends out a transmissions to incoming vessels so they don't get crushed into space dust. The hail warns them to keep their distance until orbital drift charts are transmitted, and then provides docking instructions to incoming ships... usually freighters. Thing is, you can bounce that same transmission back to the comm here... and suddenly, you've got access to the communications system from the inside.Pure pazaak - the console's ours. Now, all we need to do is re-activate the turbolifts, cancel the emergency lockdown... hey.
1. What's wrong? 2. Sounds like you're about to tell me something I don't want to hear. 3. If I hear any more bad news, I'm going to get violent.
Atton: This system's been severed from the main hub - after it was locked down from remote. You can't even reroute the system, it's been cut clean.
Repair 1. [Repair (1)] That wouldn't be standard procedure in an emergency lockdown. 2. Did someone do it on purpose?
Computer Use 1. [Computer (1)]That's not standard in an emergency lockdown.
1. Is that part of the lockdown?
Dialog
Atton: No - someone tried to lock down this whole level tight, and leave us here. Trapped. Atton: That's my guess... to cut off the console specifically from remote then sever the hub - it doesn't get any more deliberate than that.
1. Is there anything else we can do with this console? 2. There must be some way to end the lockdown from here.
Atton: I doubt it. All we have is communications back, for all the good trying to shout in a vacuum will do us.
1. Can we contact the miners?
Atton: We could try. But if the miners were trying to trap you up here and probably kill you, why not call them and chat? I don't think a friendly call is going to wake them up.
2. Let's see if we can try and reach someone on the comm. 2. Maybe there's something logged in the terminal that can give us some answers. 3. Cut the backtalk and let me check the console.
Atton: Be my guest - not much else we can do. The comm's all yours.

Journal Entry Added Galactic History: Bonus Mission
You have been out of touch with galactic events since the Mandalorian Wars. You should try to discover what has happened in the galaxy since your exile. Perhaps Kreia will know more once you have escaped Peragus.

Atton now stands with you by the administration computer at the bottom end of the level. If you've discovered the Medical Bay Murders but not asked Atton if he knows anything, then you can do so now:
