Map of the restoration zone

As you take a freighter to Restoration Zone 0031 from a docking bay in Citadel Station's Dock Module 126, Lieutenant Grenn is contacted:

Admiral Cede: This is Admiral Cede of the Sojourn. Admiral Onasi: Citadel Station, this is Admiral Carth Onasi of the Republic Cruiser Sojourn.
Dialog
Lieutenant Grenn: Welcome to Telos, Admiral. This is Lieutenant Grenn of the Telos Security Force. We've been expecting you for some time now. Lieutenant Grenn: Admiral Onasi? This is Lieutenant Grenn, TSF - we've been expecting you.
Admiral Cede: We were unavoidably detained on our way here, I hope it hasn't caused too large of a problem. Admiral Onasi: Grenn! It's nice to know the TSF hasn't gone to shambles in my absence.
Lieutenant Grenn: Only a minor inconvenience, Admiral. We were happy to be of assistance. Lieutenant Grenn: And how about you? An Admiral!
Lieutenant Grenn: I think you'll be less happy when you hear what I have to say next, Admiral. Lieutenant Grenn: You might change your tune after you see what the situation is like down here, Carth. I've got some bad news for you.
Admiral Cede: What is it? Admiral Onasi: Well, it can't be that bad, Grenn, I think Telos has already been through the worst.
Lieutenant Grenn: The witness from the Peragus incident escaped the Station. Lieutenant Grenn: The one you came all the way out here to pick up...
Lieutenant Grenn: We're not sure how she managed it, but we're currently trying to recover her. Lieutenant Grenn: We're not sure how he managed it, but we're trying to recover him. Lieutenant Grenn: Well, she managed to escape the Station. Lieutenant Grenn: Well, he managed to escape the Station.
Lieutenant Grenn: We're not exactly sure how it happened.
Admiral Cede: I see. Don't concern yourself with it too much, Lieutenant. The Republic had decided to not detain the exile anyways. Admiral Onasi: Well, that's unfortunate, but luckily it still fits our plans.
Lieutenant Grenn: The exile? Then- Lieutenant Grenn: Am I hearing this right?
Admiral Cede: However, I expect that these security failings will be seen to and fixed, Lieutenant. Admiral Onasi: I'll tell you more when I arrive, but the Republic has decided not to detain the exile, and adopt a wait-and-see approach.
Lieutenant Grenn: The exile? Then-
Admiral Onasi: Like I said, we'll talk more when I arrive.
Lieutenant Grenn: We're on them right now, Admiral. I'm uploading your approach vector to you now. Grenn out. Lieutenant Grenn: Looks like we will. I'm uploading the approach vector to you now. See you soon, Admiral.

Shuttle Crash Site[edit]

As your shuttle approaches the restoration zone, it's shot down and crash lands on the left side of a canyon. Fortunately, this doesn't go unnoticed by a friendlier inhabitant...

Ebon Hawk: Stolen![edit]

You and your party have been dragged clear of the shuttle by none other than the Zabrak ex-military engineer, Bao-Dur, who speaks to you as you regain consciousness:

Bao-Dur: Good to have you back, General.
Dialog
1. My head... feels like I've been ripped in half. 2. Where am I? 3. What happened?
Bao-Dur: Easy now. You survived one spectacular crash. Lucky I was here to pull you and your friends out of that shuttle or you'd be more than a little crispy. But it's only fair, I owe you more than one, General.
1. General? 2 Who are you? 3 What are you talking about?
Bao-Dur: You must be in shock from the crash. Have to expect some long term memory loss from that.
Bao-Dur: Too bad she's not a droid, huh? Bao-Dur: Too bad he's not a droid, huh?
Remote: Beep bop.
Bao-Dur: We can't all be that lucky.
Bao-Dur: I'll humor you, General. I was one of the Iridonian mechanic corps that was at Malachor. Bao-Dur? I can see how you'd forget me, being that I was the only one.
1. I don't want to talk about the war. 2. Sorry, I just can't remember. 3. I think I might recall you.
Bao-Dur: I'll agree to that. The less said the better. Bao-Dur: Don't think too hard. I'd rather not talk about the war if we could.
Bao-Dur: We all went through some tough times after Malachor, and maybe we all did a little forgetting. Guess that's one thing we've got better than droids - they can't forget anything. But then, you give them a memory wipe and they forget for good.
1. How are the others?
Bao-Dur: They'll be fine. The pilot's more or less unharmed and the old lady, well, she's tougher than she looks. You know, I never thought I'd see you again, General. Galaxy's a big place, and this is the last place I thought I'd bump into you. So I have to ask, just what are you doing here?
1. Looking for my ship. 2. I was told I might be able to find my ship here.
Bao-Dur: Got some news for you, General. That shuttle of yours is done for – scrap. Bao-Dur: Well, if your ship's in as bad shape as this one, I don't think you're gonna have much luck.
Atton: Well, this is familiar. Feels like my last time on Telos.
Bao-Dur: Crashed a shuttle that time, too?
Atton: No, pazaak.
Kreia: That was not the most pleasant landing I've endured. Next time, we should perhaps seek out a more reputable pilot.
Atton: You're welcome, Kreia. You know, if I weren't such a crack pilot, we could have hit the shield wall or one of those rock faces.
Kreia: Yes, our current situation is a vast improvement.
3. We should get out of here before Czerka's mercs show up.
Bao-Dur: They're probably already on their way.
1. What? Why?
Bao-Dur: I had a little run-in with Czerka that involved me ending up in a force cage. I managed to escape during an electrical malfunction. So far, I've managed to outrun them.
1. What caused the malfunction?
Bao-Dur: Something went wrong underground. The ruins used to be some sort of military research center, and something reactivated its defenses. Two salvage teams never came back, so Czerka sent in a mercenary team. Later, one merc bugged out with military droids on his heels, and they started shooting up the compound.
1. What do you think happened? 2. Go on.
Bao-Dur: I don't know - I was already locked up. They thought the salvage teams accidentally turned something on, but I don't believe it.
Bao-Dur: The power was blown out in the firefight, and that's when I got away. They sent a pursuit team after me, but most of them were busy trying to re-secure the compound.
1. What shot us down?
Atton: Beats me. No one's supposed to be here but a Czerka research team. I can't say they'd be happy to see us, but shooting us down...? I can't imagine Czerka having us shot down by a bunch of scientists, either. You know, I caught a glimpse of what looked like an AD tower when we flew over the compound.
1. Why would a research station have an air defense tower?
Atton: Maybe they're doing something they shouldn't be. I've seen pirate bases with the same sort of set-up.
1. Let's go. We need to find our ship.

Otherwise:

2. We need to find our ship. 3. Maybe we should leave you here then.
Atton: But we don't have any idea where to look for the Ebon Hawk. Bao-Dur: That's cruel, General. And anyways, you'll need my help.

In every case:

Bao-Dur: I can help you find it - I have access to the shield network. I came hoping to repair whatever damage your shuttle took, but not even I can fix that wreck.
1. So what do we do?
Bao-Dur: We'll have to get back to the compound. It's the old Ithorian research station, turned into a salvage team staging area. It won't be an easy hike.
2. Is there a console at the compound we can use?
Bao-Dur: Czerka freights men and equipment from the landing pad there. If it's there and we can breach the perimeter, there's probably something we can use. If not, we could try our luck in the underground ruins. Either way, it's back to the compound for us.

Otherwise:

1. Why not?
Bao-Dur: First, there's the mercenary pursuit team looking for me. If Czerka's secured the compound, there could be a lot of them out there. Second, there's all the cannoks.
1. What's a cannok?
Bao-Dur: The vicious, wide-jawed predators the Ithorians imported from Dxun. They were meant to keep the herbivore population in check.
1. I don't see any herbivores around.
Bao-Dur: Right. The cannoks ate them all. Now they'll eat anything they can catch, including us. Without the Ithorians to maintain the accelerated ecosystem's balance, everything here is falling apart. Czerka's killing the Restoration Project piecemeal.

Otherwise:

2, Looking for you? Maybe we shouldn't have you along.
Bao-Dur: You need my help. How else are you going to get into the shield network?
1. [Computer] Hey, I'm not such a bad slicer, myself. 2. I guess you have a point there.
Bao-Dur: Trust me, there's no way you're going to slice into the shield network. Just leave it to me. Atton: Just the trouble we need, some crazy Zabrak with a squad of mercs on his tail.
Bao-Dur: Why, can't handle a few mercs? Don't worry, I can do the heavy lifting.
2. Let's get going. Bao-Dur: That's the plan.

In the distance, a sentry droid spies on you before retreating...

1. [Bao-Dur has joined the party. He possesses the special ability to rend and destroy force fields. Use his Shield Breaker ability in combat to disrupt enemy force fields.]
Journal Entry Added Ebon Hawk: Stolen!
Bao-Dur has agreed to help you find the Ebon Hawk, but you'll need to find the shield network computer console first.

If you try to remove Bao-Dur from your party:

This character must be a member of your party at this time.

This is your first chance to speak to or level up Bao-Dur, but the former isn't necessary and you might want to delay the latter, since he can become another class once you've spoken to him after travelling to other worlds and losing or gaining sufficient influence. Even at level 6 on Difficult, his Demolitions rank is sufficient to recover all the Minor Frag Mines in the area, and in combat his chances of survival will be (much) improved if you or Kreia can use Improved Energy Resistance and he can use a Mandalorian Melee Shield, when necessary: equipping him with a ranged weapon and changing from the default Aggressive behavior should also prevent him from charging into combat.

There are three cannoks in the top right corner of the canyon:

At the bottom end of the canyon, the sentry droid has returned to a veteran mercenary with two other mercenaries. As you approach:

Bao-Dur: Mercenaries, right where we need to go. That sentry droid probably spotted us already.
Atton: Great.
Bao-Dur: They were probably looking for me when they saw your shuttle go down.
Atton: We could try handing the Zabrak over. You know, bargaining chip?
Bao-Dur: Who do you think shot you down in the first place?
Atton: Good point. Forget I said anything.

The sentry droid should then move away from the mercenaries, allowing you to kill it without engaging them (or vice versa).

If you carefully approach from either flank and use ranged weapons, you may be able to engage and kill them one by one, or if you or Kreia can use Horror or Insanity, or Force Lightning, then all three can be affected. Grenades thrown at the veteran will also affect all three, but after the first salvo the veteran will charge towards you unless one was an Adhesive Grenade. Further, the veteran's Sonic Nullifiers (Damage Resistance: Resist 10/- vs Sonic) halve damage of Sonic Grenades when a Will save fails and result in no damage whatsoever when it succeeds, and once activated his Mandalorian Melee Shield absorbs up to 50 damage from Frag Grenades, and most melee attacks (although Bao-Dur can remove it if he hits with his Shield Breaker ability, and if Atton uses blaster pistols or rifles and attacks from Stealth, the flank or the rear within 10m, then the added Sneak Attack damage can also be energy, or unstoppable if he uses disruptors).

Dialog
1. You seem happy to see me. 2. I was just thinking the same thing. 3. Looks like I'll be able to collect on that bounty anyways.
Rodian: And why would I? When we saw you, we could not believe our luck. If we could collect Goto's price on your head, we wouldn't have to worry about ourselves for quite a while. But we couldn't do anything, in our compromised position. We made plans while working here, but we couldn't imagine that you would deliver yourself into our hands. Rodian: Now you are saying just what I am thinking.
Rodian: We thought our situation being stuck here on the planet's surface would keep us from collecting on the price Goto has placed on your head. But now you've so thoughtfully delivered yourself to us. We would be remiss to allow this opportunity to pass us by a second time.
Bao-Dur: Wait, bounty? Why is there a bounty on your head?
1. It's a long story, Bao-Dur. 2. I'll explain it later. 3. None of your business.
Rodian: Don't you know? The Exchange is paying handsomely for the head of a Jedi knight. Your friend here, just happens to be one. But that's of little importance. All that matters is that we take them back to Nar Shaddaa, and collect.
Bao-Dur: I don't think so. You'll have to come through me if you want to take the General.

The passage beyond slopes down to the left end of the beach along the top side of the next area. As you travel to the right:

Bao-Dur: I always feel a sense of calm when I walk the surface of Telos. The Ithorians are truly amazing in their work.
Dialog
Atton: Amazing at wasting the Republic's credits, maybe. But now that you mention it, I think I feel it too. Like a weight's been lifted off my shoulders. Kreia: The Force is strong here. Whether Chodo and his herd has anything to do with that, is another matter. Can you feel anything?
1. A whisper, perhaps. Like the breeze through the grass. 2. No, I feel nothing but emptiness.
Kreia: That is good. As a breeze may swiftly turn to a gale, you are slowly beginning to be reopened to the Force. Kreia: I see. Even that may be a good sign, perhaps what you feel is the emptiness of the planet, its pain. We should press on.
Bao-Dur: Quiet! There's a large mercenary patrol up ahead. Bao-Dur: Look! There's a large mercenary patrol in the valley up ahead.
Bao-Dur: If we move carefully along the perimeter, we may be able to get by without their spotting us. We could cross along the shore, or head along the cliffs to the south.
1. Let's go along the shore. 2. Let's stick to the cliffs. 3. No need to hide - let's take them all out. 4. Let's just get going.
Bao-Dur: I'll follow close. Bao-Dur: Bold. All right, let's do it.

You can use similar tactics to those used against the previous mercenaries encountered to engage and kill them one by one but, although the veteran is ranged as well, they're too far apart for grenades thrown at him to affect any of the others, and only Insanity (level 12) can affect them all at once. However, they're arranged in an X formation so you or Kreia can use Force Lightning to affect three at once by targeting the hindmost along a diagonal: if both of you can use it, then you may want to move Kreia with Stealth or Solo mode into position to aim down the other diagonal to maximize coverage.

Otherwise, the veteran can throw up to four Frag Grenades and favors Master Rapid Shot with a Disruptor Rifle, so getting at least one member of your party into melee range is advisable (perhaps Bao-Dur if he's properly protected, since he can use his Shield Breaker ability to cancel the veteran's Mandalorian Power Shield).

It's possible to attack and kill them with grenades and ranged weapons without venturing into the minefield, but this may not be possible with Force powers (although you or Kreia can use a Stun Droid power to trigger the mines). Atton might be able to enter Stealth mode and remain undetected while recovering the mines closest to you, but with care you can move between the mines after entering Solo mode, closing to casting or melee range by going up to the right on the bottom side.
