This is the Stardew Valley Second Chance Calendar that you can edit.

Introduction[edit]

Audience[edit]

This calendar is for

  • imperfect gamers
  • not first-time players (assumes map, tool, and object knowledge)
  • people who are not sensitive to SPOILERS (Don't use this calendar unless you want a little spoilage, okay?)

Goals and Limits[edit]

  • help you avoid regrets weeks into your farm
  • give you clear last-chance alerts with hard dates and numbers where possible so you can decide
  • stay relaxed and forgiving/efficient so you can catch up
  • no troubleshooting

Scope[edit]

Notes/Key[edit]

  • Important things to prioritize are in bold. Key word: "recommended" (means optional, but not wise to omit)
  • Suggested gifts are listed in order of preference, with later choices better for other uses.
  • Since vertical space is infinite and horizontal space isn't, paragraphs are used instead of bullet lists.

Sell, eat, chop tree tops (not Oak, not rocks, not logs)

Spoiler
  • This week's balancing act is among 1) levelling up Foraging for big Summer income, 2) levelling up Fishing for Spring income, and 3) advancing in The Mines. Today's choice is between 1) buying food to chop enough trees to repair the Beach bridge tomorrow for additional gold and foraging experience and 2) saving gold toward a Fiberglass Rod. Since a) the Beach bridge pays daily in both gold and Foraging experience and b) the Training Rod preserves backpack space and helps achieve Perfect catches for at least a day especially for non-expert fisher players, it's recommended to prioritize repairing the Beach Bridge by selling everything but Dandelions, Leeks, and Spring Onions and buying food to chop tree tops.
  • Topping trees instead of chopping them all the way is the fastest way to unlock tree seeds and Tappers (to get Oak Resin for Kegs to make big Summer Pale Ale income with Hops) with your limited energy. In addition, stumps on your farm keep dropping seeds until you remove them. (Off your farm they don't drop seeds; they grow back.)

3 Wednesday

Fish all day.

Spoiler
  • See Spring 1 spoiler. Today's choice is between 1) chopping rocks to enter the Mines with recipes for Furnace, Cherry Bomb, and Staircase and 2) fishing all day while you can. Since a leisurely descent pace of 5 floors per day in The Mines is good for picking up the goodies you want, since you will soon be breaking rocks galore, and since it's good to batch your activities, it's recommended you go straight fishing (no watering today).

4 pm or tomorrow buy Fiberglass Rod and bait if possible

Plan for 2 am penniless

4 Thursday

Possibly break rocks.

Spoiler

See Spring 3 spoiler. Today's choice is between 1) chopping a few rocks to enter the Mines with recipe for Furnace and 2) fishing all day while you can. Since it doesn't hurt much, you can break a few rocks until you find a Copper Ore so you'll have a Furnace recipe tomorrow. Otherwise (you don't have urgent need for Furnaces this week anyway) just go straight fishing after watering.

Fish all day.

4 pm buy Fiberglass Rod and bait if possible

Plan for 2 am penniless with pack full of fish value

5 Friday

Harvest Parsnips. Keep. Don't collect reward.

Chop tops for 1 Chest

Prep for Oak tappers

Spoiler

Save around 10 or 12 (mop-top) Oak Trees (ideally with their trunks visible). Use your Screenshot tool to find and plant all the Tree (Oak, Maple, Pine) seeds you can (skipping a space between seeds; don't just keep them in your chest). Do this often in the next weeks.

CC 8-1 if not raining. Touch tile.

Mine and/or fish

Spoiler

Willy's Fish Shop will be closed tomorrow unless there's rain. So ship all the fish you have now. And if you want want to try one more day to reach Fishing Level 5: Fisher Profession before your fish are priced, you'll need to bring your fish home and ship them again tonight (unless there's rain tomorrow)

Your main goal for the next couple of weeks is to get all the copper and goodies you can as you progress about 10 Floors every 2 or 3 days to reach Floor 80 around Spring 26. If you reach Floor 5 early, empty your pack and mine to Floor 10 or fish in the Mountain Lake.
