State 1[edit]
At the start of the game you'll have to step on the gas pedal to accelerate your car and turn the steering wheel to the right as it passes a Farnsworth-like house (with three other CPU vehicles), then turn to the left as you (and they) pass another Farnsworth-like house and drive off the left side of the screen (which is marked with the text "THIS WAY" and an arrow pointing to the left); once the screen has changed and you have driven back onto its right side, you shall have to turn to the right, then turn to the left, to take the main road and disappear off the left side of the screen again (or turn to the right again, to take the short cut indicated by a question mark and drive off the top of the screen). If you took that main road, you will have to turn to the left once the screen has changed and you have driven back onto its right side, then to the right, then to the left again as you pass a barn and two farmhouses, before driving off the left side of the screen - and once the screen has changed and you have driven back onto its right side, you shall have to turn to the left as you pass a blue henhouse, then to the left again, then to the right, then to the right again, as you drive up off the top of the screen. Once the screen has changed, you will have to turn to the right, then to the left, then to the left again as you pull into a gas station (which has a flashing sign), before passing two more blue henhouses, and driving off the left side of the screen; once the screen has changed and you have driven back onto its right side, you will have to turn to the left, then to the left again, then to the right, then to the right again, as you drive off the bottom of the screen (which is marked with the text "STATE LINE"). If, however, you took the shortcut earlier, you will have to turn to the left as you pass another barn, then to the right, then to the left again, as you drive off the left side of the screen (which is, again, marked with the text "STATE LINE") - but there are still six more states to get through.
State 2[edit]
Once your car has driven back down onto the top of the screen (if you took the main road), you will receive a "State Bonus" of 5000 points and will have to turn to the right, then to the left, then to the left again as you pass a third barn, three more farmhouses, and a fourth blue henhouse, then drive off the left side of the screen; once the screen changes and you have driven back onto its right side, you will have to turn to the left (the road is, again, marked with the text "THIS WAY", and an arrow pointing to the left), as you pass a third Farnsworth-style house, and five more farmhouses, then turn to the left again, as you drive off the left side of the screen (which is, once again, marked with that text "STATE LINE"). If, however, you took that short cut earlier, you'll still receive a "State Bonus" of 5000 points, but will have to turn to the left once the screen has changed and you've driven back onto its right side, as you pass four more farmhouses, then to the right as you pass two more blue henhouses (and a third barn), then to the right again, as you pass three more farmhouses and a fourth barn then drive off the bottom of the screen - and once the screen changes and you have driven back down onto the top of it, you will be back on the main road, which is indicated by an arrow pointing downwards. You will now have to turn to the left as drive off the left side of the screen, which is, as mentioned earlier in this section, marked with the text "STATE LINE"; however, there are still five more states to get through.
States 3 and 4[edit]
Once your car has driven back onto the left side of the screen, you shall receive another "State Bonus" of 5000 points and will have to turn to the left as you pass a fifth (or sixth) blue henhouse, then to the left again, then to the left once again as you pass two more barns, then drive off the left side of the screen; once the screen has changed and you have driven back onto its right side, you shall have to turn to the left as you pass four more farmhouses, then to the left again, then to the left once again as you drive off the left side of the screen, which is yet again marked with the text of "STATE LINE", or turn to the left earlier than usual to take the short cut indicated by a question mark and drive off the top of the screen. If you took the main road, you will receive a third "State Bonus" of 5000 points and shall have to turn to the left once the screen has changed and you have driven back onto its right side, then to the right, as you pass a sixth or seventh barn, then to the left again as you drive up off the top of the screen - and once the screen changes and you have driven back up onto the bottom of it, you shall have to turn to the left, as you drive off the left side of it. Once the screen has changed and you drive back onto the right side of it, you shall have to turn to the left as you pass a seventh (or eighth) barn, then to the right, then to the left again as you pass an eighth (or ninth) barn, and pull into a second gas station (which has a flashing sign), before turning to the right and passing a sixth (or seventh) blue henhouse and driving up off the top of the screen; once the screen changes and you drive back up onto the bottom of it you will have to turn to the right as you pass a ninth or tenth barn, and then to the left three times in succession as you drive off the left side of the screen (which is, for a fifth time, marked with the text "STATE LINE"). Once the screen has changed, in background colour as well, and you have driven back onto its right side, you will receive a fourth "State Bonus" (of 5000 points) and must turn to the left twice in succession, then to the right twice in succession as you drive off the left side of the screen - and once the screen changes and you have driven back onto its right side, you shall have to turn to the right as you pass a seventh (or eighth) blue henhouse, then to the left, then to the left again, as you pass a green barn and drive off the left side of the screen. Once the screen has changed and you have driven back onto its right side, you shall have to turn to the right, then to the left, then to the right again, then to the left again, as you drive off the left side of the screen (which is, once again, marked with that text "THIS WAY", and an arrow pointing to the left); if, however, you took that short cut instead of the main road, you will have to turn to the left, once the screen has changed and you have driven back up onto the bottom of it, then to the right, then to the right again, as you drive off the right side of the screen. Once the screen has changed, and you have driven back into view from its left side, you will have to turn to the right, as you pass a sixth (or seventh) blue henhouse, then to the left, then to the right again as you pass a sixth (or seventh) barn, and drive off the bottom of the screen; once the screen has changed and you have driven back down onto the top of it, you will be back on the main road (which is, again, indicated by an arrow pointing downwards). Once you have driven back onto the left side of the screen, you will have to turn to the left as you pass a cattle skull, then to the right as you pass five cacti, then to the left again as you pass three more cacti, then to the right again, then to the left once again, as you drive off the left side of the screen; once the screen changes and you have driven back onto its right side, you shall have to turn to the left, then to the right as you pass five more cacti, then to the left again, then to the left once again as you drive up off the top of the screen. Once the screen has changed, and you have driven back up onto the bottom of it, you shall have to turn to the right, as you pass three more cacti, then to the left as you pass five more cacti, then to the left again as you pass two more cacti, then to the left once again, as you pass another cattle skull and two more cacti and drive off the left side of the screen (which, for the sixth time now, is marked with the text of "STATE LINE").
State 5[edit]
Once the screen has changed and you have driven back onto its right side, you shall receive a fifth "State Bonus" of 5000 points, and will have to turn to the left as you pass five more cacti, then to the left again as you pass another green barn, then to the right as you're driving off the bottom of the screen; once the screen has changed and you have driven back down onto the top of it, you will have to turn to the right as you pass five more cacti, then to the right again as you pass five more cacti, then to the left as you pass three more cacti and a third cattle skull, and drive off the bottom of the screen. Once the screen changes and you have driven back down onto the top of it, you shall have to turn to the right as you pass an eighth (or ninth) blue henhouse, then to the left as you pass a ninth (or tenth) blue henhouse, and then to the left again as you pass two more green barns and a fourteenth (or fifteenth) farmhouse, as you drive off the left side of the screen - and once the screen changes and you have driven back onto the right side of it, you will have to turn to the right, then to the left, then to the right again as you drive off the top of it (which, for the seventh time, is marked with that text "STATE LINE").
State 6[edit]
Once the screen has changed and you have driven back onto the bottom of it you will receive a sixth "State Bonus" of 5000 points and will have to turn to the right, then to the left as you pass a fifteenth or sixteenth farmhouse, then turn to the left again to pull into a third gas station (which has a flashing sign), before passing two more blue henhouses, and driving off the left side of the screen; once the screen's changed and you drive back onto the right side of it, you shall have to turn to the left three times in succession as you drive off the left side of the screen. Once the screen has changed (again, in background colours as well) and you have driven back onto the right side of it, you shall have to turn to the left, then to the right as you pass five ochre cacti, then to the left again as you drive off the top of the screen - and once the screen changes and you have driven back up onto the bottom of it, you shall turn to the right as you pass three more ochre cacti, then to the left as you pass five more ochre cacti, then to the left again as you pass two more ochre cacti, then to the left once again as you pass a fourth cattle skull and two more ochre cacti then drive off the left side of the screen, which, for an eighth time, is marked with the text "STATE LINE". There's only one more state left to go now; are you tough enough to make it all the way to the end?
State 7[edit]
Once the screen has changed and you have driven back onto the right side of it you will receive a seventh "State Bonus" of 5000 points and will have to turn to the left as you pass five more ochre cacti, then to the left again as you pass a sixteenth or seventeenth barn, then to the right as you drive off the bottom of the screen; once the screen has changed and you have driven back down onto the top of it, you shall have to turn to the right as you pass five more ochre cacti, then to the right again, as you pass five more ochre cacti, then to the right once again, as you pass three more ochre cacti, then to the left as you pass a fifth cattle skull and drive off the bottom of the screen. Once the screen changes and you have driven back down onto the top of it you shall have to turn to the right, as you pass a thirteenth or fourteenth blue henhouse, then turn to the left as you pull into a fourth gas station (which has a flashing sign), before turning to the left again as you pass a sixteenth (or seventeenth) farmhouse, and drive off the left side of the screen - and once the screen has changed (once again, in background colour as well), and you have driven back onto the right side of it, you shall have to turn to the left three times in succession as you drive off the left side of the screen. Once the screen changes and you have driven back onto the right side of it, you will have to turn to the right, then to the left, then to the right again as you come to the text of "END" on the left side of the screen; the text "YOU MADE IT! GAME OVER. CONGRATULATIONS!" will then appear on the screen (the second text will also be alternating colour, between red and black), and you will then receive a "Safe Driving" bonus of 6000 points, along with: a "Game Win Bonus" of 5000 points, and a "Gas Left Bonus" (the maximum value for which is 4000 points). The game will now go into high-score mode - and your score will most likely be the highest one on the cabinet to date so you should enter your initials at the top of the table (using the steering wheel and gas pedal), with pride. Once you have done so, the game will go back into attract mode.
