Controls

• : Ordinarily, the direction pad is used to control the onscreen cursor that can be seen in the visual portion of the game. It can also be used to cycle through your inventory when activating related commands. It's purpose changes when is held down.
  • +: While the B button is held down, you can use the direction pad to cycle through the nine iconic commands at the top of the screen. See the list of commands below.
• : Press the A button to request that the highlighted command at the top of the screen be activated.
• : The B button is also used to cycle through available directions that you can choose from when attempting to move.
• : Used to cancel a particular action that is awaiting further input from you.

Commands

Icon	Name	Purpose
	Move	This is the most frequently used command. Use it whenever you wish to change from your present location to a new one. Once you press to activate the Move command, you can cycle through all of your available choices with . Once an arrow is pointing in the desired direction, press to move in that direction.
	Examine	Use this command to look at something more closely. The onscreen cursor must be pointing to the object that you wish to examine.
	Take	Use this command to pick up an object that is present on the screen. The onscreen cursor must be pointing to the object that you wish to collect.
	Talk	Use this command to converse with a person present on the screen. The onscreen cursor must be pointing to the person that you with to talk to.
	Use Item	Use this command to utilize a particular object in your inventory. Once you press to activate the Use command, you can cycle through all of your available items with . Once an item that you wish to use is selected, press to use it. If the item is to be used on something in particular, the onscreen cursor must be pointing to the intended target of the item.
	Open Door	Use this command to attempt the opening of a door. The command will only be successful if the door is unlocked. The onscreen cursor must be pointing to the door that you wish to open.
	Operate	Use this command to interact with and operate a particular object on the screen. The onscreen cursor must be pointing to the object that you wish to operate.
	Place	Use this command to relinquish possession of an item in your inventory. This typically implies that you are attempting to give the item in question to someone or something that is in you presence.
	Save/Load	Use this command to save your current progress to disk, or to load a previously saved game back into memory.

Characters

Hugh

This is the character that you control, and the one through whom all of the game is seen. After losing her good friends Cynthia and Nile, he is determined to find out what happened to them and rescue them.

Cynthia

Cynthia is a very close friend of Hugh, and has gone missing after their space cruiser was attacked by the Crystal Dragon. She shares a telepathic bond with Hugh and is able to send him information concerning her whereabouts.

Nile

Nile is another good friend of Hugh's, who was aboard the space cruiser when it was attacked by the Crystal Dragon. All that is known about him is that he being held wherever Cynthia is.

Jean (Eugene in the original version)

Jean is a very enigmatic woman who appeared just in time to rescue Hugh when the space cruiser was attacked. Unaware of the location of any of Hugh's friends, Jean is a mysterious person who seems to keep popping up throughout Hugh's investigations.

Dr. Obaba

A brilliant technical engineer and inventor who develops small craft which are capable of traveling through space, she often provide Hugh with useful methods of transport, as well as advice.

Mr. Gee

This is the shadowy figure who runs a merchant stand in the center of town. He has a few useful items, but he yearns to possess a particular item himself.

Lucia

All that is known about Lucia is that she is the queen of planet Alias. She is rumored to have disappeared.

BANUGA

No knowledge exists about this mysterious entity.

	Videoscope	It is part of the Space Scooter UVX	It is used to see through enemies' defenses.
	Fuse	Found at the cruiser crash site.	You can use it to repair your own vessel.
	Gem	Found at the cruiser crash site.	You can sell this item if you can find the one who wants it.
	Book	Purchased from Mr. Gee.	A volume containing information about ancient scripts.
	Tablet	Purchased from Mr. Gee.	Its purpose isn't clear at first, but perhaps you'll find where it belongs.
	Mirror	Purchased from Mr. Gee.	Aside from looking at yourself, it can help you see in difficult places.
	Transmitter	Purchased from Mr. Gee.	With this item, your ability to hear telepathic communication will improve.
	Pistol	Purchased from Mr. Gee.	Use this item to defend yourself, or when keys simply aren't available.
	Blaster	It is part of the Tetride.	Attack enemies that you encounter in space and blast objects.
	Crystal	You collect it at the Pyramid of Alias.	It has the power to stop BANUGA.
	Card Key	You receive this on Alias.	Use it to open a certain door.
